Sweet Treats (甘いお菓子)

This is a chapter that contains some interaction between Hanabi and Giyuu when they are still a Mizunoto to Hashira. There are several moments and divided by ※※※. Not all these moments are happening in the same time or in the same timeline.

I was signed up in a mission first while Giyuu's recovering. He was throwing tantrum every time he awake and I can't be there for him everytime because I have a mission.

But today, he will get signed up in a mission. I was worried about him, but I decided to trust him. He is wearing his standard black uniform and his half and half haori. His sword is on his waist and he tied his hair back.

"Ready for your first mission Giyuu?" I asked cheerfully at him. He only nodded. His eyes are dull, not showing any brightness like he always did. But I know, there's a little hint of light in those eyes.

"Go to the south! Go to the south! Hurry! Caw!" His crow yelling from above.

"Then I'll get going," he stare at me.

"Yep, be careful okay?" I wave my hand.

He pulled me into a hug. My heart throbbing by his action. I am flustered by his action. Slowly, I returned his hug.

"Wait for me," he whispered into my ear.

I nod on his shoulder, burying my face with his scent.

He pulled out and starting to walk away from me. I saw his figure walking away and my crow poke my head.

"You got mission! You got mission! Caw!"

"Alright, alright," I shoo-ed him away and walking to my destination.

I get signed up with him in a mission. This is the first time we get paired. We ran to our destination because it's an emergency. I panted after some times.

'Shit, shit. I can't let him see me like this!' I control my breath.

"Don't push yourself, Hanabi," he said. I catch a glimpse of worry in his tone.

"Don't worry Giyuu, I can still do this," I assured him.

We arrived the place and slained the demons. Unfortunately, I got wounded here and there. Giyuu also got hurt. But despite his wound, he immediately checked on me.

"Hanabi, are you alright? Can you move?" He asked me worriedly.

"I am okay, ugh-" I winced in pain when I tried to stand up. I clenched my chest. "Don't worry. These won't affect me much. Let's head to Wisteria House," I smiled despite the pain that creeping to my senses.

Giyuu bend down and his back is now facing me. "Hop on."

"What? No! You are also injured, Giyuu!" I protested.

"But your wounds are larger than me. And I can still walk without any significant pain. Now, hop on or I'll carry you on my arms."
