Royal Problems (Sonadow)

Sonic's P.O.V.
"We love you son." I still hear their voices sometimes.

"Go! Sonic! Go!" In my dreams. I can still hear them. Just as clear as the sound of those robots taking them. Just as clear as the house burning down.

I woke up and gasped while panting heavily. I looked around, it was barely 3 in the morning. I shook my head and got out of the tent. I couldn't stay there, I had to go for a walk.

"Where are you going?" I jumped startled when I heard Shadow. I looked up and sighed in relief it was just him. "I heard you wake up." He was sitting up in a tree branch above of me.

"I am going for a walk." I shrugged and walked away before he stopped me. I walked for a while until I sighed being annoyed. "If you are going to follow me, then dont be a creep and walk beside or behind me." I chuckled and I heard him scoff but he did so either way.

We walked in silence for a bit until I decided to ask.

"Why exactly as you following me?" I asked confused since he never did that.

"Orders were to keep everyone protected, even you." Shadow simply said as he crossed his arms.

"I can protect myself. Go make sure Rouge is okay." I said and he shook his head. "Alright then I guess I'll bother you the rest of the night." I wanted to be alone.

"You're trying to get me away, awesome attempt but you failed." Shadow said and I groaned. He simply chuckled.

"You find this amusing?" I asked and he stayed quiet for a bit.

"Seems to me the roles have switched, Faker." He said, he was unusually calm around me. "Dont take it the wrong way, Hedgehog. I would be punching you and sending you to the hospital right this instant if it weren't to be that we are in a mission. The commander gave me specific orders and one of them was to not hurt you. If it weren't for that, you'd be uncounscious."

I chuckled and nodded. "I kind of figured. You'll never change, are you?" He grabbed my wrist and chaos controlled us back to the tents. He pushed me to mine.

"Sleep." He growled and pushed me inside as I gasped and yelled then landed on the floor.

I rolled my eyes and tried to ignore what had happened. It was a pain for Shadow to act that way towards me, towards everyone. I wanted him to open up to us. I just want to be his friend.

But I guess some never change, do they?

I sighed and laid back down just hoping I wouldnt dream of them again. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever...

I didn't want to be reminded of the people I could not save. The people who were so important to me and I failed them. I failed to protect my family.
