Sonic's POV
"Thank you," I told Rouge as she gave me a backpack with all the things I needed. "are we leaving now?"

"Yes. Let's get going." Shadow quickly said he was as grumpy as ever. We both followed him, he didnt look to have much in his backpack. 

"Can I at least know what I am supposed to be doing? Why didnt the commander talk to me? He usually does." I asked curious since I wasn't given any instructions.

"The commander was too busy to get to you. He just said for us to get you and leave, Faker. Shut it now." He said with a low growl.

"Since when have I listened to you when you say those words?" I chuckled making him growl louder in annoyance. He was about to grab his gun when Rouge stopped him and whispered in his ear making him stop and sigh.

I was going to ask what happened but instead, I grew curious towards the mission. "Can I at least know how long we are going to be walking?"

"A few days, Hun." Rouge said calmly and I nodded. "We will be camping out each night since we cant go through the city."

"It's better if we don't. If Eggman spots us, he'll attack that city." I said calmly.

We kept walking for the rest of the day, Shadow stayed quiet as we walked amd even when we would stop to eat while Rouge and I just talked. At least I had someone to talk to, I would be bored as hell if I would had gotten stuck with Shadow by our own.

"How do you stand him?" I asked Rouge making Shadow's ear flickered and side glared me for a second before he continued walking.

"He's a nice guy, Blue. He really is, he just hates showing that part of him." Shadow quickly stopped walking and glares furiously at Rouge.

"We are stopping here for tonight." He dropped his backpack and left to go get wood.

Once he got back, I helped him set the fire as Rouge got the tents ready. She grabbed the food out and gave one to me and one to Shadow. We sat down around the fire since it was a cold night.

"So, Blue, I noticed we don't really know much about each other, do we?" Rouge asked and I shrugged.

"I mean, we've been working together for so long. We know what we need to know to work together perfectly." I said as I took a bite.

"No, I mean... Who are you? Why did you start fighting Eggman? Who were you before you met us? Stuff like that." Rouge started and I looked at her and chuckled.

"I guess I was never really asked such things." I chuckled again as I looked up at the beautiful dark sky. "I don't know, I guess this started from a young age. I saw people that needed help and I couldn't stop myself from risking my life for them. Before I met you guys, I was still fighting against him, just with... Different people by my side, ive been doing this since I have memory."

"What about your family?" Rouge asked, Shadow was just listening.

"My family...?" My heart was beating a bit faster at this. I sighed and stood up as I finished eating. I shook my head with my ears slightly lowered and walked in direction to my tent. "Eggman took them away from me." I simply said then walked in my tent and closed it not wanting to talk anymore.

I fell asleep right after.

Shadow's P.O.V.
"He's lying." I said lowly at Rouge.

"He seemed so hurt though." She answered back.

"Anyone can fake that, Rouge." I walked to my tent. "Stop trying to ger him to talk. Our mission is just to get him there and forget about him." I closed my tent and fell asleep.
