Namjoon's whole world came crashing down.
His mother had collapsed on the floor, his father was shouting at the police to let their son go, but it was already too late. The damage Namjoon had done was irreversible.
The cruel reality kicked in when the police told him to say goodbye to his parents. He broke down right in front of them, his hands attempting to escape the handcuffs that were around him.
He also had ankle bracelets and a neck brace, just to hold him back from harming any of the police officers. They all knew what Namjoon was capable of, seeing that he was a wolf
they knew his full potential for fighting which is why they had to chain him up.Namjoon could barely move, all that he could do was fall apart as his parents promised to take him out of jail no matter at what cost.
But that was a promise Namjoon knew his parents wouldn't be able to keep.
Soon he learned that he truly was a monster when seeing all of the images of the images of the severed bodies. The murders he committed wouldn't be forgiven with all of the money in the world. He had to accept that he was never getting out of prison for what he did.
That was the painful truth.
While pacing through the dark hallways, filled with prisoners and the smell of cigarettes, he saw so many unfamiliar and scary looking faces. The men from the inside of the jail cells didn't even seem human-like, they looked more like monsters.
Their faces were covered in black inked tattoos, teeth rotting away, hands marked with bruises and scars.
Namjoon could feel them whispering horrible and dirty things behind his back such as
"New blood for us."
"You're never getting out alive."
"He won't survive one night."
"Look, a new appetizer."
"We'll make your life miserable." He flinched when he was met face-to-face with a jail cell.
"Welcome to Hell." A police guard said, shoving Namjoon into a dark room.
The room was crowded with limited space.
It had nothing but a dirty, dusty old toilet, a squeaky sounding bunk bed which seemed very unsafe, and a single, thin blanket. The whole place was spine chilling and had a lot of extremely unsanitary conditions, especially near the urinal and sink that reeked of urine and had small dots of blood on the sink that had dried up, leaving a mark that can never be washed away no matter the amount of water that spilled over it.
Just like Namjoon's mistake. No matter the amount of money, no matter the lawyer his parents are able to locate, no matter the court date or the endless amount of times they attempt to get him out of there, Namjoon would still remain locked away in the Hell that he is being faced with now.
He didn't speak or make a single sound in order to remain unnoticed by the rest of the prisoners who had whispered such explicit things to him down the halls.
But his quietness was also taken the wrong way. In jail, everybody is a suspect, a victim, and a target for anyone.
And rather it's a police guard or a prisoner, Namjoon wasn't going to be safe from them for long.
"Hey you, what brings you here?" Namjoon was startled by a man that jumped off of the top bunk bed, earning a mocking laughter from the rest of the men in their jail cells.
"Ohh, my bad. Didn't know you were sensitive." The man didn't seem trust-worthy to Namjoon, but he didn't want to ignore the problem and run away from it.
He was done avoiding his problems. It's because of avoiding them that he's gotten where he is right now, so he decided to face them.
"I killed someone." He clenched his jaw, tasting the bitterness of his own words, falling out of his mouth.
"We've all killed before. Wanna know the worst part about it?" Namjoon nodded at the man, interested in hearing more.
"Half of us here are innocent, yet we're forced to be locked in here with these fucking psychotic idiots, all because of these SHITTY ASSHOLES we call policemen who judge us too quickly!" His screaming wasn't intimidating to Namjoon, but relatable.
Namjoon agreed with the man's words.
"What's your name, man?" Namjoon and the prisoner exchanged names.
"My name is Kim Namjoon."
"I'm Lee Chulmoon." They cautiously shook hands with each other. Namjoon saw scars on both of the man's hands, and open wounds on the bottom of his palms.
He stared at them with worry.
"What, these? You'll get used to them."
"How did this happen to you?" Namjoon asked, letting go of the man's rough hands.
The man bowed his head down, staring into the distance.
"An inmate of mine poured acid on my hands while I was sleeping, burning them to a crisp." Namjoon was horrified.
"A-acid?" The prisoner nodded in confirmation.
"Acid. They removed that bastard from my room years ago. You're the second inmate I've had in five years." Namjoon was shocked at this information.
He stared up at the dark black haired male, staring at his built body and biceps that were covered in tattoos with dark designs on them.
"Want a one?" The man asked, pulling a cigarette out of his pocket.
"Oh, no thank you. I don't smoke." Namjoon admitted, earning an eye roll from the guy.
"If you don't want trouble in jail, better start acting tough and lose the 'Thanks' for a 'Give me that'. It's the only way to prove to the rest of us in this jail that you're not weak."
"But I don't smoke, sir. It's something that I've never done before and it can harm my lungs and vision." Being a wolf, Namjoon's vision is excellent among others, but one puff of a cigarette and it can leave him blind before time.
He doesn't want to lose his sight. He's already losing ten years of his life stuck behind bars
filled with strangers who want to tear him apart. So, after he politely declined Chulmoon's offer once again, insisting that he didn't need the cigarette.
"If you want to survive in here, you have to prove to them that you're one of us." He wouldn't have done it, but with the peer pressure and wanting to belong, Namjoon gave in.
Just like he did in his school years...
~flashback~
"I don't want to do that. It's bad."
"Namjoon, do you really want to belong in our group? Or do you want to be lonely without friends."
"I... I'll do it."
