JONAH'S P.O.V
Making his way to the door, he knocked twice. With no answer, he turned the doorknob to go inside.Inside was Joshua Cage sitting on his couch binge-watching what looked like Netflix's Atypical.
Laughing hysterically he waved him over
"Don't be shy! come on in!"
"If you're uncomfortable just leave the door wide open!"
Taken aback he left the door wide open and stood frozen at the door.
Pausing the video Joshua got up, walked over to Jonah and gave him a hug that took him clear off the ground.
Putting him back down he said, "Grab some snacks, take a seat!"
Jonah couldn't tell if he was shouting or he had a loud indoor voice.
Blindly grabbing the first thing next to him he followed Joshua to his couch.
For a trailer, the place looked like the Mariott. Everything was in neutrals but the effect was calming. For a small space, it didn't feel claustrophobic or cramped.
The most impressive thing was Joshua himself. He was a lot better looking than his pictures. While he was expecting Thor what he got was essentially dad bod 2.0. His outfit was fairly basic for someone of his stature. Not a single horseshoe, strip or checkmark to indicate he spent more then he had to on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.
"Based on your facial expression I can tell I'm not at all what you expected"
"What did I expect?" he said more defensively than he intended
"Thor"
Trying to contain a smile he awkwardly avoided eye contact
"What brings you here today?"
"I'm not sure, to be honest with you"
"That's ok, you can chill here for as long as you feel comfortable"
Pressing play, they sat together silently watching Atypical. Sitting together like old friends they talked about whatever came to mind. Whether it be the show, the issue of disability in America to just America in general. Midway into the second episode, he decided to fire away.
"Do people think you're an asshole?"
Bursting at the seams Joshua fell off the couch laughing.
"Yes!"
"Are you an asshole?"
"I don't think so. I'm actually kind of a loser"
"Really?"
"Yea, I never got through high school. I grew up with a single mom who could barely see straight. When she wasn't blackout drunk she was getting blackout drunk. All this to say until I found this I honestly couldn't name a single thing that brought me any joy"
"I get that..." Jonah whispered
Stretching Joshua continued, "To society, I was a deadbeat loser who spent all his time on internet forums...I mean they weren't wrong"
"What kind?" Jonah said surprised
"lipstick ally, oh no they didn't and of course porn"
"ONTD is a good one"
"It still is," Joshua countered
Laughing with him more comfortably than before Jonah helped himself to a can of Redbull.
