JOLENE'S P.O.V
Disappointed but not surprised, she waved the waiter over and ordered herself the biggest steak and finest wine their menu had to offer. Her gut had been telling her all day that he probably wouldn't show but she remained cautiously optimistic.
For nearly 3 hours she had sat alone in her thoughts. The only reason she had even bothered to check her phone was that the waiter had asked her if the person she was expecting was running late.
Midway into her steak, she picked up her phone and pulled up Viktor and Denise's profile.
Impulsively she opened his facebook page and messaged:
"Hi, Viktor.
You probably don't remember me but you should. On May 1, 2007, you raped me at a house party. You left me half-naked and threatened that if I ever told anyone no one would believe me because I seemed like the type and you were going to Berkely. I don't expect you to message me back and I really don't care if you do. Moving forward I just hope this message finds you and you go on living the rest of your life with the knowledge that Jolene Grace is alive and well."
Signaling for the bill, the waiter returned to tell her that a gentleman at the bar had, "taken care of everything."
When she asked why the waiter said that the man had never seen someone sit alone so confidently as if there was no one left on earth.
