JOLENE'S P.O.V"

3:00 am and the adrenaline rush was still there. After the event, she agreed to follow a group of strangers to a bonfire on the beach. Granted it wasn't Santa Monica beach but it was appropriate given where they were. She'd never had so many non-alcoholic drinks in a row so she couldn't tell if she was sober, full or drunk. Listening to these people spill their guts about their lives was humbling.

By the end of the, even she had forgotten all about Joshua. She ended the night with more phone numbers then she could juggle. Never did Jolene think it was possible to laugh and cry so much in such a short time period. Minus the communal yoga, the even doubled as a ted talk, and group therapy session.

The entire experience totally exceeded her expectations. He was a lot less intimidating in person. His aura, on the other hand, was otherworldly.

Home at least, Jolene finally opens her letter.

"FOR YOUR EYES ONLY"

Dear Jolene,

Getting to know you for the past few months has been more then I could've ever asked for. You've shared your u[s and downs and I've shared more with you than with anyone I've ever meet. I started this journey in hopes of connecting with people. You've helped me more than you can imagine. Regardless of what happens moving forward, I want you to know that I love you.

From yours always,

Joshua Cage

As if this night couldn't get any better she checked her DM before bed and found a stream of messages from the man himself.

"Sorry I missed you today but you looked beautiful upfront. I'll be in LA for a few months but would love to meet you in person before I leave. How does Friday night sound?"

Typing and retyping her response she finally settled on a simple one-word answer

"yes"

Unable to think any longer she laid down on her pillow replaying the day's events and for a second she could've sworn she saw Jonah smiling at her as she rushed inside to take her place.
