"Hi, how can I help ya?" A girl who looked like she was in her late twenties with a pixie cut dyed in a silverish colour stood before them, and both girls stared in awe at how gorgeous she was.
Unable to chat right away, Ryn was nudged by Harper to speak up, at which she cleared her throat loudly."Um, we're just wondering if by any chance you might be familiar with a woman by the name of Therese Vos?"
"Therese Vos, I've never heard of her." Answered the girl and both Ryn and Harper exchanged a perplexed stare.
"Are you certain, because we might be led to think otherwise,"
"Yes, I'm being honest. What is this about exactly?"
"We're trying to find her, she's a friend of ours and sadly she disappeared a few months ago. We were made to believe that she resides here by an anonymous source."
"Oh I'm sorry but no one by that name lives here. It's just me and recently a good friend of mine moved in,"
"Okay. By any chance is this your friend?" Ryn questioned taking out her phone and sliding to a photograph of Therese. The cute girl with a slightly different accent grinned while shaking her head.
"Yes, that's my friend, Fiona." The girl replied and both Ryn and Harper turned to each other exchanging "what the fuck" looks.
"So you know her as Fiona?"
"Yes, that's her name, Fiona Belivet."
"How do you know Fiona?"
"She and I were together about two years ago and she disappeared without any trace. Recently she called me out of the blue asking me to come get her in some weird town— said she was being chased by some dude and of course I couldn't just leave her there."
"So let me get this straight. You haven't heard from her in two years but was willing to go to her aid without so much as a doubt if it was right?" Harper questioned causing the girl to scowl.
"She needed my help. I wasn't going to let her get hurt because I refused to get over a few things. And another thing, how do you girls know her?"
"We're trying to help her, but we had lost her somewhere around the town you picked her up. Now, all we'd like to know is where to find her."
"I don't know where she is. She left about an hour ago said she'd be back in a bit."
"Okay."
"Would you mind if we waited here for her?" Ryn asked and the girl squinted her grey eyes.
"Um, I don't really mind it at all. Come in," she said moving away from the door to let them in.
Once Ryn had swept past her the girl couldn't resist looking and Harper saw when she did.
The way the girl studied Ryn made her feel some type of way and because of that, she cleared her throat to draw her attention."What's your name?"
"Oh, I'm Sofia." She replied with a friendly nod but Harper still didn't quite like her.
"And you?"
"Harper and this is Ryn,"
"Nice to meet you Sofia," Ryn said with a friendly smile directed at the girl which earned a blush.
Harper rolled her eyes at the nonsense between both girls and took a seat in a chair, just gazing at them both.
There was silence between them until Sofia offered them some tea."Yes I could use some tea, thank you," Ryn replied turning to Harper.
"No thank you I'm alright."
"Okay. Please give me a sec, it may take a while," Sofia spoke softly and left the two girls together in the room.
Harper then shot Ryn a glare and frowned when she gave her wink and then a cheap grin._______________
Sofia and Ryn were busy chatting about something that Harper seemed not to care for when just beyond the walls they heard talking.
Instinctively she recognized the voice as her sister's and quickly shot Ryn a worried look.
Ryn caught the signal which to be fair wasn't really much of a signal but readied herself for what would come next."Sounds like Fi's back," said Sofia with a cheerful grin, getting up to tend to the door.
Before she could've made it Therese was already inside and making her way over to where she was.She froze once she saw her sister who was now standing beside a tall but breathtaking girl; who had a gun pointing it in her direction..she suddenly recognized her.
"I must say, you're quite an interesting woman Therese," Ryn broke the silence inching closer to the equally tall woman.
Sofia had now turned around to face Ryn and squealed when she saw the weapon in her hand."It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you. It's her that I want, but do get out of the way."
Sofia needed no more warning because she was off to the side exposing Therese to the very stern bounty hunter."How did you know that I was here?"
"You're a smart woman but not too smart. You took Chad's phone and left him in a town all out of money. Didn't you expect us to find him?"
"Well, yes but I didn't think he'd talk,"
Therese replied and Ryn chuckled."But he did,"
Harper was still in the corner, brown eyes peering at her sister who gave her a cut-throat glare.
"So Harper, I'm guessing Harge put you up to this?"
"Yes, and you should've been expecting it."
"Of course I was expecting him to look for me, but I wasn't expecting him to send you. You surprise me, Harper, you actually do have balls." She replied and Ryn clicked her tongue to draw her attention.
"No more talking, I need you to be quiet. Put your hands on your head and turn around."
"Or else what, you're going to shoot me?"
"If it comes down too it, yes,"
"Sweetheart please, you know you wouldn't do such a thing."
Taking the gun off safety, Ryn showed her that she meant business.Therese's face turned sour, her light brown eyes turning dark and slowly she began to comply.
First turning around and then placing her hands unto her head.
After she'd done that, Ryn made her way over to her with caution, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a pair of flex cuffs."Okay, put one hand behind your back," she instructed again and much to her surprise Therese complied without any fuss.
Before she could've done the same action of wrapping the cuffs around her other hand, Ryn heard Harper fussing and turned around.
"Hey, hey what are you doing?" Harper shouted and before Ryn knew it, she saw an object swinging across her view, smashing against her head and she stumbled back.
A loud groan left her throat, and she flung a hand to her buzzing head.
Everything started to look dark for a few seconds as she staggered, trying to recover her equilibrium.
