"Isn't it a little weird that she looks so much like me?"

"It is. I was sorta suspecting the moment she came outside that we might learn something shocking. Waverly looks so much like you, it's really weird."

"I know and that name, ugh," Harper snuggled closer to Ryn's bare chest. "She has such a pretty name."

Ryn couldn't help but smile.

"I wanna help her Ryn, do you think that's wrong?"

"No, why would it be, you're her aunt."

"I know but I'm afraid it'll definitely piss off Therese. I mean if she had wanted me to do that she would've told me she had a daughter."

"I don't think it's what she wants. Waverly is almost eighteen and will be able to make her own decisions. She'll want to be around you, you did mention she said that."

"She did," Harper smiled again remembering the girl. "I just don't want her to end up like Therese. I want to show her that she can have things without stealing it or giving up her body for it. I can help her with her uni fees. I can buy her a house, whatever, just as long as she never turns to the life her mother lives."

"You really are passionate about this entire thing with her huh?"

"You grew up in a home where you had four older brothers, a mom, and a dad. My father died when I was fourteen and all through my life I was the only child living with my parents until his death. Then it was just my mom and I. You have no idea how much I craved having someone other than my mom to talk to.
She's not good company,"

"She's older and when I was in my teens ready to be young, wild and free I had her by my side, screwing everything up. It's why I never lost my virginity until I was twenty-one, it's because of her. I imagined if I'd had a sister or something or cousins that lived close by I would've done things, exciting things."

"Geesh, I'm sorry. I can't believe you lost your virginity at twenty-one."

"So now you get why I need her around. I want a bigger family. At first, I wasn't too keen on the idea but now I am."

"That's really adorable." Ryn kissed her forehead.

"And I want you to be apart of it. I want you to be there with me and Waverly. I want her to know that you and I are working on making us a thing."

"I'd love to be there for you both."

"Good. Now tell me. How old were you when you lost your virginity."
Ryn laughed.

"I can tell you  it wasn't when I was twenty-one, that's for sure."

"Yeah, yeah. When you grow up with a mother as strict as mine, that happens."

"I understand. My parents were strict too but I was still able to lose mine at seventeen."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Last year of secondary school to this older woman, I was dating at the time."

"It was with a woman?" Harper was intrigued. She felt Ryn nod and she chuckled.

"Oh, my god that's great. Have you ever had sex with a guy?"

"Never," Ryn answered. "I'm guessing you have?"

"Yeah, but a handful of times. Never really liked it.".

"Of course not. If you did we wouldn't be laying here right now."

They laughed together for a while.
The room became somewhat quiet, with Ryn softly brushing the curls in Harper's hair. The moment felt so right to her, having Harper there to hold and touch was something she never knew she'd enjoy so much.
A few months back she would've never imagined being laid up like this next to someone that felt her level of attraction but she was now and she couldn't stop dreaming of what else the future held in place for her and Harper.
She hoped that it was just as perfect as this.

Looking out through the window, Harper peered down into the city streets. Everything below looked so tiny, even the cars and the buses that drove past.
They seemed to distract her from the real reason she was there standing in Harge's office.

Nervously clicking the pen she had in her hands, Harper took her passion out on the little object. Clicking as fast as she could until Harge spoke.

"Can you stop that and just say what's on your mind?"

"No, I can't because I'm anxious Harge. I'm nervous. Therese is gone, again and this time even the cops can't find her."

"I know that but I'm sure they'll get her."

"I'm not and then those detectives were questioning us over a week ago on whether or not we knew anything." She said, still staring out the giant window.

"Harper is there something else you'd like to tell me you seem, troubled."

Harge waited for an answer but didn't get one right away.  He started running his fingers through his hair, sighing at how bothered the younger girl seemed.

"Are you afraid she'll hurt you?"

"No, I'm not. I just have something I want to say that I don't know how to explain."

"It must be something important because I can see it eating you away."

Turning her attention to the older man sitting in the chair, she narrowed her eyes. Sighing and giving the pen one final click she walked over to him.

"How well did you know my sister?"

"Apparently not well at all because look, she fucked me over," Harge replied, his choice of words unlike what he usually spews.

"So you have no idea who Waverly is?"

"No, not at all. Is she another stooge of your sister's?"

Harper remained silent, watching the older man as he assumed what her niece could be. Shaking her head she sighed again.

"She's Therese's daughter."

"What?" Harge uncrossed his legs leaned closer to the desk. He placed his hand on the wooden surface, eyes fixed sternly on Harper.

"There's has a daughter and her name's Waverly."

"You can't be serious." Harge scowled.

He stood up from his desk to walk over to Harper, towering over her. He pushed his jacket out of the way and placed both his hands on his hips, staring down.
"Tell me you're joking."

"I met her a week ago. She looks exactly like me but taller."

"Where, when, how?"

"The detectives that questioned us mentioned that she visited Therese.
They thought I knew who she was but I didn't. I got Ryn to find out where she lived and we paid her a visit. She dropped the bomb and I still can't believe it."

"How old is this girl?"

"She's almost eighteen."

Harper watched as the older man seemed to be lost deep in thought over what he learned. His face contorted in perplexity as if he was trying to add everything up.

"It means Therese had her when she was probably nineteen,"

"Right. How come neither of us knew about this girl?"

"She doesn't have her last name and there isn't much about her out there."

"C-can I see her?" He questioned.

"Why?"

"I just want to see for myself, is all."

"How long have you known my sister?" She frowned.

Harge remained quiet and it's there that Harper's eyes widened in disbelief.
She allowed herself to contemplate what if he could be Waverly's father but she had no clue how long he'd known her sister but his silence spoke a little and she started to suspect that maybe, somehow it was possible.
