It had been a year since Adra got stuck babysitting the God of Mischief. They experienced growth but Loki was still hesitant and often shut off from her. She didn't know why but he captured her attention and infatuation. He was now able to roam the tower as an ally though with strict supervision and rules. Tony made sure to have eyes on Loki at all times even when Adra was around him.

The change this mortal woman brought to him made him feel different. He didn't like different, Thor was annoying him and even more persistent with his do good attempts. Loki glared from the couch to the window. He needed some space from her, just enough not to damage her but he wanted to keep her close, he didn't realize she's been watching him for a while.

"Alright, what's going on?" Adra asked, putting her book down inching closer to him. Loki only offered a forced smile as he felt his anger rage on, he started noticing when he felt uncomfortable or possessive his anger flaired up. "Nothing pet." He watched her frown as that word slipped his mouth, they discussed things he had to treat her as an equal even if she were a human.

"Pet? You're over thinking again." Reaching out to touch his cold hand she felt him pull his hand back flinching from her touch. Realizing his mistake he rushed to grip her fingers and hold her hand. "Loki, what's going on?" Looking to those sad emerald eyes he shut his mind off from her which left her confused. "I don't think I like your presence anymore. We need to spend less time together." He blurted out as her breath hitched. She had a serious stare as she gripped his hand, he pulled his hand back keeping an emotionless expression. "Are you trying to be an asshole on purpose or do you actually want this?" Adra trked going through her head, they spent multiple hours and days together. Discussing poetry and Asguard

"I do want this." Loki spoke coldly, not a single falter in his words. Standing from him she glared down to him crossing her arms. "Why are you blocking me from your thoughts? Be honest with me." She watched as his expression twisted with that growing anger. "I don't need to do anything for you." He stood towering over her as she felt hurt by his cold nature. "Loki why are you acting this way?" Speaking softly Adra bat her eyes trying to find an ounce of regret in his eyes. "Like what? Tell me what am I acting like wench?" Loki knew it would hurt her, he felt that small nagging sensation against his heart.

"You're acting like a selfish prick." Clenching her teeth she narrowed her eyes as the tension of the room got heavy. The elevator doors opened as Tony and Natasha walked in. "Maybe you've just seen my true colors. Stop living in a fantasy and realize you can't change me." Loki growled through his teeth as Tony and Natasha froze. "Change? Is this why you're lashing out? You're afraid of changing?" Throwing her arms up Tony and Nat turned back around walking back to the elevator. The doors shut as Loki charged forward backing her into the large window.

Hearing a crack beside her head his palm slammed down on the glass, the sheer force cracked under pressure. "I'm not afraid of anything, certainly not a mewling quim like yourself." Those words echoed in her head as she felt her lower lip quiver and tremble. Once her tears started to fill her eyes he pulled back having that sense of guilt and regret.

Lowering her head she stepped forward walking past him. "Adrasteia." Loki called to her as he felt his voice crack. He, Thor, and Natasha were one of the only few able to pronounce her name correctly. Ignoring him she shook her head walking to the elevator. Pressing the roof top button she couldn't stand him, she had to get out in fresh air. Loki felt a nagging sensation over come him as he closed his eyes forcing himself after her. Maybe she went to her room?

The room was empty as Loki spoke up. "Voice, where did Adra go?" Friday answered him calmly. "She's on the roof." After hearing this Loli felt panic and regret build more into his core. Nobody has ever made him feel like this before, he hated change but for her he would try to accept it. Many years passed and he felt he had to change just to be accepted by Thor and Odin. They couldn't accept him as he were so why would a mere mortal?

Teleporting to the roof he watched her sit along the edge of the helicopter pad, she gazed down to the city below as her face stained with more tears. Loki approached slowly not to disturb her or startle her, she just liked the breeze from the roof though her chest felt tight and pained. "I'm not going to jump, so stop being so worried. Can you just go away? You said enough." She was like him, shut off and alone. Though he realized she's the only one which hadn't asked him to change.

"I'm scared." He spoke breathless, he felt what seemed like a weight lifted from his shoulders. "I thought you weren't scared of anything--even a mewling--" Adra couldn't even repeat the words as she felt her chest hurt more. "I was scared, I'm afraid of change like you said." The words tasted bitter on his tongue, he wanted to wash it away like filth on his skin. "I don't know how to accept good." Repulsed by his own honesty it felt out of character for him. Adra chuckled wiping her face knowing it must have been hard for him to tell her this

"This is what humans call kissing ass, that feeling inside, you feel guilt. Congratulations you feel other emotions." Adra sighed as he approached sitting beside her, he looked out to the city as the cars and building lights filled their senses. "Adrasteia, my dear, I-I'm afraid. I've had many people try to change me. You're one of the first which doesn't ask that of me. I feel like, I feel like disappointing everyone is far easier than trying." Opening his frigid heart she glanced over seeing that green glow coming from his eyes.

"Oh Loki." Speechless she gazed to him with a heartbroken glance, she knew the feeling. "It feels like the world is on your shoulders. Tis better to fail then expect success every single time." She mumbled which caught his attention. "Yes, that is exactly how it feels." Inching closer he wanted to touch her, he needed her warmth. Rraching out his hand she felt the cold brush against her fingers. Turning her palm over she looked down allowing him to hold her hand.

"My dear, you'll catch a cold up here." He whispered which some how made her shiver. "I'll blame it on you." Adra said as she pulled him near, he sat behind her while they looked onto the city. He held her right hand with need wanting to keep her close. Kissing her skin he wanted her beside him. "Loki you want ruin me or damage me. I'm going to stay beside you for as long as I can. Broken goods have to stay together." He knew she read him emotionally, he admired that. "My dear you're not broken, you just have a few cracks. I will spend my every waking moment filling those cracks with every ounce of my soul." Loki kissed her temple as she pursed her lips in a smirk.

"You have a soul? I guess you learn something new everyday." Grinning wide she couldn't help but make a joke, groaning low Loki bit into her neck which caused her to squirm and tense. "Not on the edge!" Shouting out she was scared of falling forward from a spasm or reaction. "Then don't misbehave." Teasing her he smiled wide. His arms held her close making sure to keep her balanced. The sun dropped from the sky which made their moment even better. Sunset made him watch her, the sun burned in her eyes until darkness consumed the sky. His hand lifted turning her chin, she watched as his face neared.

A gentle kiss spread onto her lips, closing her eyes she cupped his right cheek. They locked lips with one another as the gentle motion filled their longing. She slipped him her tongue which was a mistake. He deepened their kiss dragging his tongue sensually along her mouth, he coiled his tongue to her own as she felt her mind swirl and go blank. Stars danced in her mind. He pulled back watching her struggle to breath and focus. Tricky God made her love struck. He wore a prideful grin then brushed her hair through his long fingers. "Be still my beating heart." Loki murmured out as she blushed.

Later that night when everyone went to bed the duo decided to sneak into her room, things got a little X-Rated if you know what I mean. But that's another story for another time.
