YEARS LATER

"You cant be serious dad ! I dont want to get married!"

"You have no choice."

"I have never had a choice ! You go about telling me it's for my safety. What kind of father sets his 22 year old daughter with a foreign guy just to send her off shoes and never to see her again, because of safety? What safety! You never for once told me how mom died! You're still keeping me in the dark. Mom's gone and I cant fucking deal with it because my dad is driving me nuts. When mom was alive, there was one of her, and now she's gone, there's you!! "

"The little you can do is at least show some respect to your late mom, realizing that she died because of your stubbornness. " he screamed back at her, and immediately regretted not keeping his cool in check.

"Exactly. Two things ! You always remind me of how guilty I should feel because of mom's death. And secondly, you use the fact that you are my father to make me do whatever you want. You sent me to army school, why? To be strong isn't it? And then what happens? I'm not allowed to be free, I still move around with guards on my neck, and then I'm being forced into a marriage of a guy I barely know who is not even from India ! What was the point of you sending me to the army school and wasting your precious money.  Huh? You know what? I'm pretty sure grandfather never killed your childhood. I'm sure he didnt arrange your marriage to mom. But the case has to be different with me. I have no fucking friends, I dont go out and live life normally, my childhood was spent indoors, teenage life has gone by and I haven't lived it normally and then, all of a sudden you want to ruin my entire future.  Come on dad, please. You and I have not spent quality time like normal fathers and daughters do. You work every second, come back in the morning and leave in the morning."

"You're marrying Dylan and that's final!" He said not sparing a glance at her.

"Damn you dad!!!" She screamed with tears flying as she raced to her room,  banged the door and locked it. She fell to her bed and cried into her pillow.

"He's a good guy." Samarth said to himself trying hard to control the painful tears streaming down his face.

"Yes Mr. Standen, tomorrow evening you can come for the introduction. We'll be ready." He said.

Telling Dawn to get ready tomorrow will be like talking to a stone, but I just have to try my best. She just has to listen. Dylan's a good guy, he'll take care of her.

He sighed as he took the hot coffee and went into his room. Since Sneha's death, he's been scared he's not being a good father, hiding in that fear he does unbelievable things, he regrets them but he doesn't want to lose his daughter like he lise his wife. It would kill him. He already arranged what she would wear, for the introduction tomorrow, the engagement to follow couple days after, and then her marriage. He was totally ready to send her off, because he was scared that Poorab would strike again. He had dry cleaned his wife's saree, the one she wore on their engagement and wedding. He looked at the dresses sprawled on the bed. The wedding was gonna be quiet, nothing big, hopefully Poorab would find out once she's crossed the borders of India. The one reason he set her up with a foreigner.  He picked up his wife's photo that sat every time there,

"Miss you darling. I wish you were here, maybe she wouldn't be so mad, so guilty, it wasn't her fault. It was mine. I refused to listen to you and then, it cost your life. You're right,  she is as stubborn as me. I miss you. " he said, pecked her picture before he decided to go to his daughter with a dress.

He stood outside her door for ten minutes, walking up and down, before he summoned the courage and knocked.

"Go away." She said. He knocked again and again and again , then it became consistent until she gave in. Her appearance almost melted him down, but he reminded himself of the main reason behind it.

"They're coming tomorrow evening."

"Are you going through with this?"

"Yes. And you better not act out tomorrow, because you need to keep in mind that no matter what, the wedding has been sealed. Okay?"

"Why daddy?"

"I will not give you an answer you already know of." He said and walked away. "And yes, there will be someone to dress you up. And bear in mind that in the next two days, your engagement to Dylan will take place here."

"I hate you dad."

"Youll thank me the minute you find out the reason behind my doing this."

"Youre not the father i knew before"

"Because of that same man, he lost his wife. He will not risk it with his daughter. He'll go by aby means necessary to keep her safe, because thats his only child. His only heir. Make sure to comply. Get ready ." With that he exited her room. Dawn broke down into hot uncontrollable tears as she stayed by her bedside, weeping.

"Is this how youre going to punish me mom? Really? You could at least kill me, I'll be better off that way instead dying slowly on my inside. Dad has been extremely hard on me, and hes also hard on himself too. He sent me to the army school for self defence, then he withdrew me without allowing me complete. Only to set me up with a complete stranger, how unfair can life be to me?"

A/N:

Shes 22, he's doing all of these to protect her. I feel so bad right now, this dad fights so hard to keep his emotions in check so his daughter lives. So much love rn❤❤.
