Hi, I'm back. We haven't had an Alec chapter for a while. And I completely forgot about Amatis's meeting with the queen. And the associate. So that's what I've decided to go back on. Enjoy xoxo

"Lord Sebastian, you called for me." Amatis swept into the sitting room, her grey hair hanging loosely down her back. She wasn't prepared to greet her master.

"Yes, how is the girl coming along?"

"Your mother is still working on her. She will be prepared within the week master."

"Good, my plan sinks further into jeopardy every second my Clarissa is with them."

"Is there anything else?"

"Yes, have my mother arrange a meeting with my... Associate."

"Of course my lord, when do you wish him to meet with you?"

"Tonight, he must expect her arrival."

"Very well,"

Alec Lightwood tossed and turned, unable to find sleep. Ever since Magnus had left him he had been... weaker, more vulnerable. He hated it. For years he had lived with his feelings for Jace and still fought effectively. But Jace had never broken his heart.

Lately he had taken to skipping meals and clave meetings. He was no longer called on to fight, merely left to wallow.

He had found some comfort, even though it was selfish. He knew that Clary had returned, apparently herself once more. He hadn't been able to bear it, knowing that his freinds and family were happily in love.

Then that changed. Clary loved Sebastian, was even prepared to kill Jace for him. He didn't know why, but he found joy in his parabaiti's suffering.

Suddenly a feeling of calm crept up on him. He lead there for a while, all his pain and suffering gone. Then a single word entered his mind. Sebastian. He rose, leaving the institute as if in a trance. He had to find Sebastian.

He walked and walked until he reached a large house. If he'd been in his right mind he'd have been confused. Clary had destroyed it the day she'd saved Jace, hadn't she? But he wasn't, he was unable to think anything other than I must find Sebastian.

As he walked up to the oak door Sebastian opened it, his silver hair glinting in the moonlight.

"Alec, enter,"

"Yes Lord Sebastian," he bowed, walking through the doorway.

Sebastian led him through the dimly lit hallway into a bright, sparsely furnished sitting room.

"Take a seat Lightwood." Sebastian ordered. Alec obeyed without batting an eyelid at his harsh tone. "I need you to answer a few questions."

"Of course master,"

"What do you know of Clarissa's whereabouts and wellbeing?"

"She is held hostage in the institute in Jace Herondale's room."

Sebastian drew in a sharp breath. "And what, what are they doing to her?"

"They are trying to find a 'cure' for what you've done to her my Lord."
"What of her... relationship with Jace?"
"My parabaiti refuses to attempt... anything until she loves him again."
"Good, good. That is a relief. Now we're almost done, there's just one thing to take care of."
"Are you about to erase my memory master," Alec asked without a hint of fear.
"No, I need to stay in contact with you during the course of this week,"
"Why?"
"Because you will have a guest in the institute this week. She will relieve you of Clarissa. You must welcome her and aid her."
"Of course master,"
"You must have a story, any ideas?"
"Is she mundane, downworlder, or Nephilim?"
"Nephilim,"
"You are the Shadowhunter's nemesis so, you could have killed her parents. It is covenant law to give shelter to a shadowhunter in need."
"Very good. So you invite her in. In the dead of night you them both free Clarissa and she brings her home to me."
"I understand,"
"You have proved very useful as my associate. Now go!"
Alec rose and left, not once pausing, or thinking of anything except Sebastian's orders.
