Earth's pale, yet radiant companion was shining down brightly upon him, illuminating the streets of Fawcett City. On this fateful night, in the dark alley, one soon to be Adrien Morgan was going to be abandoned by his birth-parents. Sometimes miracles do happen because a wailing baby was soon discovered by a kindhearted homeless man, who immediately called the police and baby Adrien, with nothing but his baby blanket with his name on it, was taken to the orphanage where a young couple, who couldn't have children of their own, adopted him.

Layla White – Young lady of incredible beauty and sharp tongue, wife to Edward White, CEO of a multimillionaire company and a devout Christian, was having a great day. Approximately five months ago Layla found out, that she was barren, news that devastated her and her husband. She always wanted to have children of her own, so they decided to adopt a newborn baby and raise him as their own, shape him into a worthy heir of his inheritance and member of society.

Sister Eunice rushed through the halls of the St. Mary's orphanage with a goal in her mind, knocking into children and other caretakers alike on her way, then profusely apologizing, for you see sister Eunice was a woman on a mission. One hour ago, their orphanage received a call from the police station, asking her if they had enough space for a newborn baby, that was abandoned in the dirty alleyway. The moment Eunice's brain processed what the officer told her, she instantly remembered about Layla, a young lady who would often come to the church where she served before to pray. Slowly, over the years they forged a tight friendship. She knows how heartbroken Layla was when she found out about her condition. Sister Eunice has been in contact with Layla and she knew that they decided to adopt a baby boy and she saw this as a great opportunity, surely a sign from God himself, to make her friend happy and complete their little family. After the baby arrived, they made sure that he was not suffering from hypothermia and was well fed, she ran out of the room to contact Layla.

To say that Layla was ecstatic would be an understatement. The moment she heard about a little boy that just arrived in the orphanage her friend works at, she decided it was a sign and that she would take in the poor thing as her own. Edward Reginald White was not a man that you could easily surprise. Yet the face of his wife, in the middle of the night, that was a mix between childlike excitement and apprehension... well, color him surprised. In a rush, his wife told him about a baby that was abandoned in the alley and just got delivered to the orphanage her friend sister Eunice worked at.

Edward couldn't understand why she found the need to wake him up in this ungodly hour, surely a child wouldn't disappear overnight, but seeing the genuine happiness on his wife's face he decided to comply with her whim, got dressed and they went to meet their future son. The drive to the orphanage was filled with silence, both occupants of the car distracted, thinking about the changes child would bring into their household. Layla decided that she quite liked the name Adrien, it certainly suited blonde little cherub, sleeping peacefully in the cot, suckling on one of his chubby little fingers. Edward, on the other hand, couldn't quite see that charm of the newborn baby, he thought it resembled a pink squirming little larva. The baby had blonde hair which was a plus in his books, and he was sure that if the baby opened his eyes now, he would see the baby blues every newborn possesses. Coming out of his musings he glanced at his wife, who was oblivious to the world as she happily chattered with sister Eunice. He supposed this baby would do. It didn't really matter anyway, at least this one resembled him. And so the young couple left the orphanage, with hopes, ideas, and thoughts of the future dominating their minds.
