Adrien woke up feeling cold. The reason for it was the two human-sized dents in their wall. He was still pouty about yesterday. Couldn't believe that some asshole broke his neck like that. What if there would be an enemy he couldn't beat. Who was he kidding, the only reason he was able to banish Adam was the shitload of information fox downloaded in his head. Thanks to those memories, he wasn't a defenseless orphan anymore but he still needed to broaden his spell repertoire.
That's why he decided to visit Greendale. Rumor has it that the town was infested with witches, but unlike Salem, they hid it well. Only 13 witches died, hung in the forest. He remembered reading stories about them in his family library. Witches always fascinated him and now he was one of them. Adrien the Witch Boy had a nice ring to it. He came out of his musings and took a look at his best friend. Yes, Billy was the only and best friend he had. His face was relaxed, mouth slightly open, and a tiny, almost invisible, string of drool coming out of it.
Looking at his innocent face no one would suspect that he was Shazam. Champion of the Gods, Guardian of the Rock of Eternity. Soon, Billy, too, woke up. They sat together chatting about random topics when Adrien decided to remind Billy, that he was leaving.
"So uhmm... Billy, do you remember how I mentioned that I wanted to go to the Greendale?" after Billy's nod, Adrien continued. "So... I decided why not do it today?" half-shrugged Adrien.
"What brought this on?" asked Billy, head tilted to the side like a puppy.
"Adam did," answered Adrien. "He attacked us, in our home. I don't feel safe, to be honest. I need to learn more spells, offensive and defensive, maybe some warding magic too that doesn't require human sacrifice," sheepishly rubbed Adrien his head.
"Can't you put the wards here by the way? As Shazam, I mean," inquired Adrien.
"No, I mean... I have the wisdom of Solomon, but apparently, that doesn't include knowledge of spells. I can shoot lightning bolts from my hands though," happily chirped Billy.
"Ok. Then I guess we both will have to learn. I better get going, I don't know how long it will take me," Adrien stood up, hugged Billy, and took a step back when Billy interrupted him.
"Wait, wait, do you know how to go to Greendale?" asked Billy.
"In theory, I just clearly picture the image of the place I want to go to in my head and poof... I'm there," shrugged Adrien and picked $30 from his stash.
Billy was about to argue more about the dangers of such stunts but Adrien made a hand gesture and disappeared in the cloud of black smoke. Just in time to see Billy's annoyed, deadpan face.
Greendale
Adrien appeared in the middle of the town, not one of his best moves he admits.
'Where's everyone? Why the town is empty in the middle of the day?' asked himself, Adrien. Indeed, the whole street was empty, not a single soul. The weather was strange too, it looked like a mini-tornado was on its way.
