"How did you know you liked girls ? And that you were in love with Wendy ?"

Lana froze at Mary-Eunice's question. Why was she asking this ? Was she having doubts about her sexuality ? Did someone catch her eye ? A man ? A woman ? Who ?

"I-I'm sorry, it's too personal, I shouldn't have asked..." the blonde girl apologized, hiding her flushed face in her hands. With Mary's guilty tone, the brunette came back to her senses, and rubbed her back, comforting her.

"Hey, hey, of course it isn't too personal... your question just... took me aback, a little." She smiled and stroked her hair. "It's quite a long story, do you want to hear everything ?"

"Yes... I do..." the younger girl shyly nodded.

"Well, then..." the brunette took a deep breath, and explained everything to the former nun, trying not to miss any details. How she had met Wendy during a summer camp, how they had made out in a small toilet cabin, in the middle of the woods, how they had fallen in love with each other... Wendy was the one who had made her realize that she liked girls, and that's when she had stood up to her parents that she discovered her love for her. She had had a violent fight with them when they had found out her relationship with the other brunette. They had ordered her to leave her, but Lana had refused. Her parents weren't talking to her anymore, since then. They had thrown her out, but fortunately, Wendy already had her own place, in which the reporter had moved. Mary-Eunice listened attentively to the whole story, caressing Lana's brown locks.

"I... I didn't know about all that, I'm so sorry, Lana..." the former nun apologized, even though there was no reason for her to do so.

"Don't apologize... it's not your fault all of this happened." The brunette chuckled softly. "Well, now, you know my story as well as I know yours... we're even." She remarked, referring to the time she had told her the reason why she had taken the Holy Orders this young.

"Hm... kind of." The blonde smiled, taking Lana's hand in hers.

"But I have to ask..." the reporter seemed to be hesitating.

"Please do." Mary smiled sweetly, encouraging her friend to open herself up. Lana sighed deeply.

"Why did you ask me this question ? Do you... are you... are you into someone ?" She carefully asked.

"I... um... no... I mean... I was just curious, it's a question I've always wanted to ask you..." the blonde admitted, blushing slightly.

"I see..." Lana nodded, not really convinced by her answer.

"Are... Are you ?" Mary-Eunice timidly asked, scared of what Lana could reply. The brunette froze, and took some time to answer, because of the war which was happening inside her mind.

"I... I..." Lana stuttered. "Wait... where the hell has the self-confident Lana gone ? Why am I acting like a teenager, blushing and stammering like this ? I should be trying to figure the real answer out !" Lana thought, internally gathering herself, and changed her behaviour. "Well..." she softly placed her hand on the back of the former nun's neck, brushing her hair, and stared intensely into her eyes. "I may..." she felt her friend's body tensing at her words, and smiled to herself, understanding that the blonde was actually jealous. "... or may not... have a crush on someone." She sweetly brushed the tip of her nose against the blonde's and grinned playfully. "Why ?"

"Who is she ?" Mary ignored Lana's answer. Her tone seemed a little curter than usual, and the reporter didn't miss it.

"You seem to be curious about her... why is that so ?" The brunette questioned innocently.

"I-I just... I want to know who you hang out with, that's all..."

"Mary ?" Lana softly whispered.

"Yes ?"

"Do you like girls ?" She directly inquired.

"What ? No ! I cannot ! I'm not allowed to !" Mary-Eunice immediately replied, even though she sounded doubtful.

"You don't really mean what you say... do you ?" The reporter leaned in slightly, bringing her face closer to the blonde's.

"I... I don't know..." she hesitated.

"Would you mind, if I kissed you, right now ?" Lana asked, her voice getting huskier with the arousal she was starting to feel because of the tension between them. Mary-Eunice didn't answer, and the brunette brought her lips closer and closer to hers. They could feel each other's hot breath brushing their lips and necks. Lana bit her lower lip in anticipation, and the blonde couldn't help but stare. They were about to kiss, when an alarm suddenly resounded, startling them. They almost fell off the bed, and the reporter, recognizing the fire alarm, rushed to the window and spotted a huge flame that was starting to devour the building. "Mary, we have to leave, right now !"

They both packed their things, luckily, they weren't the type to unpack all their suitcases when they were in a hotel, that's why they only left their toiletries in the room. Lana called a taxi, dodging the security measures : she was basically hiding a mentally ill person, who she had helped escaping from Briarcliff, she could easily get in trouble, if they got caught.

"Where are we going ?" Mary-Eunice asked, as they had just reached Boston.

"Home." The brunette grinned and pulled her into a tight hug. They could have died, tonight. That was enough for Lana to decide that they really had nothing to do here. She had bought tickets : they were booked on the next boat to France.
