"Welcome to France, my dear." Lana chuckled, as they had just arrived at Calais.

"Is this Paris ? Where's the Eiffel Tower ?" Mary was already running around, totally overexcited by all the new things around her.

"Calm down, Mary, we're not in Paris yet." The reporter chuckled softly, placing her hand on the younger girl's shoulder. Mary was facing the sea, and Lana was facing Mary's back. None of them saw the blush that had appeared on their cheeks. The brunette took her hand away, as if she was afraid she could hurt the blonde just by touching her.

"Let's... Let's head to the car, shall we ?" Lana timidly suggested.

"Lead the way..." the blonde girl answered with the same tone.

The drive to Paris was slow. Lana wanted to spend some time there, since she wished to show Mary-Eunice around, that's why she had booked another classy hotel room near the Sacré Cœur.

But as they entered the room, they discovered that there was one detail that didn't match Lana's booking : there only was one king-sized bed for them both. Lana asked the receptionist for another room, but there wasn't any left, the girls had to stick with only one bed.

"I'll sleep on the sofa, you can keep the bed." They were back in the room, and Lana had just come up with an idea in order to avoid sleeping with the former nun.

"No ! You paid the room, you sleep in the bed." The blonde girl was categorical.

"What makes you think I'm giving you a choice ?" The reporter questioned, arching an eyebrow. She wasn't smiling, but the younger girl could easily hear, from her tone, that she was amused by her comeback.

"What makes you think I am giving you one ?" Mary-Eunice retorted.

"Stop stealing my lines !" The brunette giggled.

"I'm not !" The younger girl laughed as well.

"Yes, you are !" Lana came closer.

"No, I'm-" The reporter stumbled over a bag which had been messily thrown on the floor, and fell on Mary-Eunice, pushing her on the bed. She let out a shriek, and Lana put her arms on her sides, in order to prevent herself from falling onto her.

Her faces were only inches away, as they stared into each other's eyes. Everything around them became blurry. The sound of their husky breaths alone was filling the room. Lana started nibbling on her bottom lip, trying to repress her urge to kiss her. Mary-Eunice wasn't in a better state of mind : everything in her head was messed up. A side of her was craving to feel the brunette's lips on hers, but her other half, the one which had been fed with religious sermons, and her parents' hate, was afraid of what it could provoke.

Lana finally came back to her senses and stood back up. "I'm... I'mma have a ciggy, I'll be right back..." she rushed out of the room, forgetting her coat, in which her cigarettes actually were. Mary sat there, confused.

Lana was now walking down the Parisian streets, only wearing her usual pencil skirt and turtleneck. She was starting to get cold, but didn't mind. She just couldn't get back to the hotel now.

She walked for an hour and found herself in Belleville Park. The night had fallen, and as she was heading to the belvedere, she could spot tons of lights illuminating the city. Lana was admiring the breath-taking view she was having of a nocturnal Paris, but something stopped her from enjoying it.

"I wish Mary-Eunice were here with me..." she sighed to herself, sitting on one of the benches around her. She started rubbing her arms, shivering. "It's getting fucking freezing... I'm going to catch a cold..." the reporter was becoming desperate, when she felt a heavy piece of cloth being placed on her shoulders, along with a scent she knew too damn well.

"I found you... finally..." an out of breath Mary-Eunice was standing next to the bench, staring at Lana with a concerned look on her face.

"You... you looked for me ?" The reporter was genuinely surprised. She thought that with what had happened, the blonde girl would never talk to her again, but she actually had looked for her, in the cold of French winter nights.

"Indeed." Mary smiled, then sat next to her, shivering at the feeling of the cold wood against her body. "I was worried, knowing you were out... when the night falls, you never know what can happen, and I wanted to make sure you were safe." She explained, even if she internally knew that there was something more.

"I'm sorry you worried about me, Sweetie." Lana smiled softly. "That's cute, though." She winked, and the former nun's cheeks, which were already tainted with light shades of pink, got even redder.

"Thanks... I guess ?" The blonde girl chuckled lightly.

Lana simply grinned, and leaned herself against the blonde's shoulder. Both of them sighed quietly, at ease with this position. The reporter, who already was on the right track, turned her head to glance at Mary-Eunice's face. The blonde looked back and smiled. "What ? Do I have something on my face ?"

They both giggled. "I was just thinking about how much I am in love with your eyes..." the reporter admitted, then realized what she had just said. "I mean, I've always thought that blue eyes were really pretty, and..." she sighed, knowing she only was dragging herself down by trying to explain her statement.

"It's alright." Mary laughed a little, amused by the brunette's clumsiness, which was really rare, but always cute when showing up. "Thanks, though. I like your eyes, too." She smiled.

"They're just brown, don't lie to me, they don't have anything different than other brown eyes..." Lana awkwardly laughed, thinking the blonde nun was only complimenting her to make her feel better.

"Your eyes are the most expressive ones I've ever seen in my life. And remember : I've worked in a madhouse. Your eyes are like you : they seem tough, but if you spend some time examining them, you'll understand that they hide a heavy past, and deep emotions." While saying that, Mary was bringing her face closer to Lana's.

"When I first met you, I could only see pain in your eyes. It saddened me, to see such a kind woman bearing so much sorrow every day..." the brunette paused. "But since you got out of Briarcliff, they seem to shine more and more every day. I'm so proud of you for that." The reporter was also coming closer to Mary. Their mixing breaths caused little white clouds to form. Their eyes were devouring each other's lips, and closed when their mouths collided. Lana hummed deeply into the kiss, with a slight moan, and started moving at a slow pace, wanting to make this moment everlasting.

Their spirits were getting foggy, it felt like they were the only ones on Earth, at this very moment. Lana's tongue brushed against the blonde's upper lip, and she slightly opened her mouth, letting her in. The kiss became passionate. Mary-Eunice's hands were running through Lana's hair, and the reporter had her arms wrapped around her waist, keeping the former nun close to her.

After a few minutes of furious making out, they broke the kiss, trying to catch their breaths. The younger girl, thrilled by the indecent and unforgivable act she had just performed, suddenly felt the uncontainable urge to... do it again.

She pulled her into a second kiss, her hands tangled in Lana's now messy brown locks. The reporter pulled away, breathing heavily, and stared into Mary's eyes. "I've been wanting to do this for way too long..." she exhaled, lifting a strand of the former nun's hair behind her ear.

"Me too..." the blonde girl smiled, her cheeks now bright red.

Lana smiled, then kissed her forehead, placing her arm around her shoulders. They stayed like this for a while, watching the stars and the city below them.
