Chapter 19

Ashton's p.o.v

Today was December 15th. We have 5 days until Christmas Break. It has been almost 3 weeks since Calum's mom died. He was doing a little better but it was still affecting him obviously. This would also be their first Christmas without Joy. Tonight was the winter formal. I told Calum we didn't have to go. He said he needed to get out of the house. Luke and Ethan were going together and then Michael had to work so he wasn't going with us. It was time for gym but since they were setting up for the dance we went to the weight room. After Gym we then had Music.

Calum's p.o.v

When I got home I was thinking about tonight. I was nervous. I am not good at dancing and the school doesn't really know about Ashton and I dating. The only people that know is our friend group, families and Ethan since he is coming with us. I just don't want to embarrass myself in front of Ashton. It was time to get ready so I got ready. I wore black dress pants and a white dress shirt with a tie. I then styled my hair. When I looked at the clock I realized Ashton would be here any minute. I put my phone and ticket into my pocket and then heard the door ring. I ran downstairs but my dad beat me to the door. He invited Ashton inside and then took a lot of pictures. I said goodbye and Ashton took my hand. We walked to his car. He opened my car door and I thanked him. After closing it he walked around back to his side and got in.

Ashton: You look handsome.

Calum: Thanks. So do you.

Ashton: Thanks. Anyway babe Luke and Ethan are driving themselves so we are just going to meet them in the parking lot.

Calum: Ok.

When we arrived to the school a lot of people were already here. We found a parking spot and then met up with Luke and Ethan. I wanted to spend as much time as possible away from Ethan. He is an asshole towards me sometimes and just a horrible person in general. We walked into the dance and walked around for a bit. We went to the candy bar and ate a lot. We decided to dance. So far they haven't played any slow songs. After a while people started to notice that Ashton and I were dating. A few jocks making fun of us. Since they were Ashton's teammates they weren't being too mean to us We just danced and had a good time. A few hours later and after a lot of dancing, eating, taking pictures and just hanging out we decided it was time to go. We said goodbye to Luke and Ethan before heading outside to the parking lot. We got into his car and he drove me home. When we pulled up to my house we got out of the car. He walked me up to the front door. We kissed and then said goodnight to each other. I walked inside and saw my dad on the couch watching tv.

David: How was the dance?

Calum: It was great!

David: Well that's good to hear.

After my dad and I finished talking I went up to my room and went to bed.

Luke's p.o.v

The dance ended and it was time to go home. Ethan and a few other people brought alcohol with them to the dance. He was drunk. I helped him out to the car and we got in. While I was driving he started talking about my parents.

Ethan: Can we go back to your place?

Luke: Ethan you know we can't.

Ethan: The whole school knows about us. Why can't you just man up and tell your parents. Are you ashamed of me or something?

Luke: Ethan don't say that! You know I love you. My parents are just not the most accepting people.

Ethan: You are telling them tonight.
