Couldn't Be More Different (Cashton/Muke)

Chapter 17

Calum's p.o.v

It was 6:15 and I was in my room getting ready for tonight. I was still deciding on what shirt to wear. We were all wearing black skinny jeans. I picked out a nirvana band tee and put it on. After brushing my hair I got into the car with my family and we drove to the school. When I got there I met up with the guys. Our parents would also be meeting for the first time. When I got to our meet up spot I saw Luke, his brothers, Michael, his mom, Ashton, his mom, dad brother and sister. My mom dad and sister were here as well. We were all wondering about Michael's dad. He never talks about his dad and no one has ever seen him. Luke's parents were also no where to be seen. We were not on until the end so we went to the auditorium and took our seats.

Ashton's p.o.v

We were 2 hours into the talent show and had to head backstage. We were all talking and Calum started getting nervous.

Calum: G-guys I can't do it!

Michael: Calum trust us. You will do great!

Luke: Yeah! Plus we are all going to be there with you. You can do it!

Calum: Guys I-i can't!

Ashton: Guys go ask the teacher for a water bottle.

Michael and Luke: Ok.

Michael and Luke stepped away. Calum's breathing was getting heavier and more irregular. I tried helping him with his breathing like I did the first time he had a panic attack. It wasn't working and I didn't know what to do. Next thing I knew my lips were on his. He didn't pull away and his breathing slowed down. I pulled away after realizing what I just did.

Ashton: Oh my god Calum I'm so sorry.

Calum: Remember that night at your party?

Ashton: Yeah. What about it?

Calum: I wasn't joking when I said you were hot.

Calum kissed me back and then we turned around seeing Michael and Luke holding a water bottle.

Michael: What are the chances that all 4 of us like dick?

Calum: Wait what?

Ashton: It's go time people!

We walked out on stage and quickly set up. We started singing and people seemed to like it so far. We got through the chorus and it was Calum's verse. He sounded perfect. Everyone in the crowd was shocked. The teachers and students have never heard Calum speak and he was singing in front of everyone. I couldn't see that well since I was in the back but his parents looked proud. He finished his verse and we all continued singing. When we were done we walked off stage. We were all happy with how everything went. I was confused. Calum hasn't said anything about our kiss. Were we a thing? I grabbed his hand and we walked down the hall.

Ashton: So what are we?

Calum: We can be whatever we want to be.

Ashton: Will you be my boyfriend?

Calum: I thought you would never ask.

He kissed me and we heard the door to the hallway open. It was my family looking for me since the talent show ended. I pulled away from Calum and faced them.

Ashton: Um.

Anne: Who is this?

Ashton: This is my boyfriend, Calum. I'm bi.

Tom: Cool. We are taking all of your friends and the family that came with them out for ice cream so let's go.

Ashton: Wait. Your not mad?

Anne: Why would we be mad? Love is love.

Ashton: Ok then let's go.

Luke's brothers decided not to come with us but the other 12 of us met up. My parents bought ice cream for them. We pushed 2 tables together and all sat down. The parents got to know each other more while the 4 of us talked. My dad brought up football and then Luke's boyfriend Ethan got brought up somehow. Luke was giving us weird looks and then  quickly texted the group chat saying he hasn't come out to them yet. We texted him back assuring we wouldn't say anything. I looked up from my phone at Michael. He told me when we hung out at the arcade that he had a crush on Luke. He looked mad when they were talking about how well Ethan treats Luke. I don't know what that was about. When we all finished our ice cream we said goodbye and went home.
