He kept mute for some minutes before he finally said, Hajiya don't mind her. I slept off at Kamal's place last night. I was about going home, just came to check on you first.

Hajiya stared at him as if she was trying to figure out something, before she continued with what she was doing.

There was silence in the kitchen for some minutes, the only noise was coming from the plates Hajiya was washing.

Always remember it's your responsibility not to hurt your wife. Hajiya broke the silence which brought him back from his deep thoughts.

In sha Allah i will do my best. He said and placed his head on her shoulder.

He smiled and whispered to her "you are the best".

Hajiya also smiled and said to him, am proud of you my son.

So how did it go with Munaya about Zahra?

She asked him and he pulled back his head and coughed before replying. She is okay with it.

You mean Munaya gave her consent? She asked him again and he just nodded.

Or is there something else you are not telling me?

Hajiya asked and he smiled it off changing the topic asking, how is Zahra, hope she is better now?

Yes she is. Hajiya replied bluntly.

Let me go home first, will be back to check on them.

He said and made his way to the door. Hajiya just nodded without saying anything.

Alhaji Zahraddeen was sitting in his armchair under the shade in his compound.

His wife came with a plastic chair and joined him there.

Just some minutes after she sat down, her phone rang. It was Munaya calling.

She picked the call immediately but her mood changed when she heard her daughter sobbing.

My angel, what is wrong with you? Hajiya Safiya asked her but there was no response, the only thing she heard was the nose sniff done by Munaya.

Talk to me, is it Mubeen again? She asked which made Alhaji glance at her.

Mami, Mubeen has done the worst. She finally said.

Did he beat you? Mami asked again. Mami it's more than that. She said in tears.

My dear, what is it? Hajiya Safiya asked in a motherly manner.

Mami, Mubeen is cheating on me. She said and burst into an emotional cry.

What! She shouted and stood up from where she was sitting.

Are you sure about this? She asked curiously.

Yes mami, the lady just brought his phone that he forgot at her place last night. She replied in a breaking voice.

You know what, calm down dear. I will be there in few minutes. Mami said and ended the call.

As they were saying all that, Alhaji Zahraddeen kept nodding his head in disbelief.

Munaya turned to go into the room only to see Mubeen standing at her back.

Where the hell are you coming from? She shouted at him.

He kept quiet and made his way to go in but she held his hand and pulled him back saying, you dare not walk out on me.

Munaya what is your problem? He asked her in a calm tone.

My problem is you. So Mubeen even after everything, you still cheated on me. She said and continued crying.

He was about to say something when the door opened and Hajiya walked in.

Munaya quickly ran to hug her mummy as she burst into another cry.

Mami tapped her back and said, don't worry dear am here now. Everything will be fine.

Goo..................Mubeen opened his mouth to greet mami but was interrupted by her. Keep your greetings to yourself.

You are an ingrate. She said in a grievous tone. After everything we did for you, this is how you want to pay us back.

Munaya please let me explain. He said and she looked at him from head to toe before hissing.

We don't need your explanation. Mami said.

All I want from you now is my daughter's divorce paper. She added and both of them looked at her shocked.
