Chapter Twenty Five

Munaya closed her eyes and let the tears conceived in her eyes fall on her chin, then used her veil to wipe them off.

She stamped her feet on the floor and went upstairs to Mami's room.

She opened the door quietly and tiptoed into the room.

What do you want? Mami asked her in a terrified manner.

Ehmm... ehmm... nothing. She stammered.

Mami are you not tired of tolerating this woman? Munaya asked her.

I mean why are you here killing yourself because of another woman.

You can leave the house for them or better still confront daddy for a divorce.

Munaya said without thinking twice.

Are you stupid, how can you even think of that? Mami asked her on top of her voices.

Munaya looked at her shocked and asked, have I said anything wrong?

I can't leave this house, where do you expect me to go? Mami asked her again.

But Mami your parent are still alive, you can go to them. Munaya replied.

My daughter, you won't understand.

I've been in this marriage for 26years and you want me to leave just like that without any genuine reason. Mami said.

I don't get you, you can't leave your matrimonial home even when your co-wife treats you this way? Munaya asked her in surprise.

This is my fate and I have accepted it wholeheartedly. Mami replied.

Then why did you not allow me accept mine too, why did you have to break  my marriage for your selfish reasons.

Mubeen got married again, are you happy now? Munaya asked Mami almost in tears.

Am sorry my daughter, it was the work of the devil. She replied calmly.

Ohh please take the devil out of this.

You made me believe I would lose my shape if I bear children for my husband.

Your never allowed me breastfeed my daughter, you lured me into disrespecting my husband while you are here showing love to yours.

You made me remove my womb because children are distractions like you said.

You encouraged me to go for this promotion by satisfying my boss in bed.

Why did you do this to me, what did I do to deserve this from you?

How could you have advised me to leave my husband?

Munaya said and broke down in tears.

Mami could not say anything. Indeed she has ruined her daughter's life.

My angel, am sorry please forgive me. Mami said solemnly.

Am sure you both have learnt your lessons.

Alhaji who has been standing by the door said and walked in.

Munaya turned and hugged him.

He also hugged her more and patted her back.

Daddy am sorry, I promise to change. I will live with my husband and co-wife in peace, I won't cause any problems again. She said in tears...

Don't worry everything will be fine. He said to her.

Alhaji stretched out his hand and helped Mami stood up then hugged them both passionately.

Mubeen went back to his house and checked the damages done there.

The damages were not severe as it only affected some part of the sitting room.

Since Hajiya agreed to let them stay till after the naming like Intisar requested from her, then he would use that period to amend everything back to it's shape...

Kamal also went back to the village to seek forgiveness from Samira's parent and also shared the good news with them..

He came back along with her mother.

Samira was happy to see her mother.

The baby brought alot of happiness and blessings to the family...

Everyone contributed and showed their support in one way or the other.
