Chapter Twelve

She was brought back from her deep thoughts by Lubna who was tapping her.

What was that all about, I thought you guys broke up? Lubna asked her.

Samira just ignored her and went back to where they were sitting.

She picked her bag and left Lubna standing there confused.

Two weeks later
It was a Saturday morning. Intisar was off duty so she decided to go for shopping.

Are you going with the children? Hajiya asked her when she saw her dressing them up.

Yes Hajiya, she said and continued with what she was doing.

That is one of the reasons why I said you should get a nanny for them but you declined.

Now who is going to assist you? Hajiya asked her again.

"I will" a voice replied from outside.

The door opened and Lubna walked in.

Intisar shouted and jumped on her asking when did you come back?

I've been in this town since last week, Lubna said hugging her sister the more.

But why did anyone not tell me. She said when they both sat on the couch.

When I arrived, I noticed your absence in the house and then asked mummy about it and she said you moved in here.

Besides I wanted to surprise you. She added and smiled.

She glanced around and that was when she noticed the inhabitants of the room.

She stood up immediately and went to hug Hajiya. Then she kept staring at the children.

Sis what about these ones? She asked pointing at them.

They are her children. Hajiya replied her.

Wow they are so cute. She said and picked them up.

You did not even wait for me to visit you at Paris. She said twisting her mouth.

Am sorry my mummy, Intisar said and they both laughed.

So where were you going to? Lubna asked her curiously.

Just shopping dear, am so bored. She replied.

Wow then what are we waiting for? Lubna asked and stood up.

Hajiya we will be back soon. She also said and stood up. Okay take care.

They carried the children and left.

You know what dear, when mummy told me you gave birth, I never expected twins.

This is a big surprise and double of joy to me. Lubna said while driving.

She noticed the silence from her sister then she tapped her but was surprised to see tears racing out of her eyes.

SubhanAllah what is it dear, have I said anything wrong? She asked concerned.

Intisar only nodded her head indication "no".

Then why are you crying? She asked her again.

Intisar wiped off her tears and faked a smile before saying, you are my sister so I can't hide anything from you.

Actually Mubeen  is.........she started but was interrupted by Lubna.

That reminds me, let's visit bro Mubeen. I've not seen him since he got married.

I was not even opportuned to attend his wedding, I was having exams then. Lubna said and Intisar nodded.

Lubna, Anwar is my child but Zahra is Mubeen's daughter. She said.

What do you mean? Lubna asked surprised.

Intisar told her everything and how Zahra ended up with her.

Lubna kept staring at her shocked. She couldn't believe what she just heard.

How can any woman be this heartless? "She thought to herself".

Lubna just smiled, placed her left hand on her sister's lap and said; Big sis you are special.

Intisar hugged her sister and said I love you too.
