Mami laughed and clapped her hands saying, I don't know why you always like joking even when am serious.

Am very serious here, remember every man is entitled to four wives besides I need children and you just gave me one.

He said to her in a manner he has never done before.

Hajiya was dumbfounded, she couldn't move an inch from where she was.

Munaya was coming downstairs when she heard what Alhaji said.

Daddy what has Mami done to deserve this from you, that you could pay her back by bringing in a girl young enough to be your own daughter as a wife? Munaya asked twisting her mouth.

Alhaji gave her a slap and said, you better keep quiet before I descend on you.

Comon take her to the room close to mine. He said pointing at the lady.

Munaya was shocked, is this really happening or is Alhaji possessed. "She asked herself".

She lead the way and the lady followed her behind.

Alhaji did I really deserve this? Mami managed to ask him.

Safiya you have to understand me, I did not do this to hurt you. He replied in a calm tone.

He has been married for 25years without no issues but just last week, his youngest wife put to bed a baby boy.

Mami broke down in tears.

Munaya showed the lady her room and came back to meet her mummy.

Alhaji came and led her to the bathroom to take her bath.

She looked round the bathroom and kept wondering where the water was.

Aisha go in and take your bath, check the wardrobe for what to wear when you finish bathing.

He said and was about going when she asked, Alhaji where is the water?

The shower is running, he replied.

She did not understand what he meant by 'the shower is running'.

As she was staring at him, he stepped forward and put on the shower.

While doing so, he was ready to run out lest the water would soak his clothes.

He withdrew as the water rushed out.

Aisha screamed and dashed out of the bathroom.

As she stepped on the drops of water on the corridor, she slipped and fell like a mighty log in the forest.

What is it, why did you run out? Alhaji asked her while he helped her up.

Why won't I run out when I did not know what you did that made something like rain fell on me. She replied contorting her face.

Alhaji tried to restrain laughing at her statement but he could not.

He giggled and said, the shower is meant for taking bath, it doesn't harm.

Aisha was still not convinced.

Get me a bucket of water, she said as she contorted her face.

Okay go in, let me help you. He said and she turned immediately to look at him.

Alhaji smiled and was about entering the bathroom but she ran in and closed the door.

He just shook his head and left.

Aisha would turn on the shower a little first then tiptoe forward, when the water touches her body, she would jump and step back.

She continued repeating that process till she was convinced it doesn't really harm.

She spent more than an hour in the bathroom before coming out.

She went straight to the wardrobe Alhaji showed her and brought out a gown.

She wore it, sat on the bed and continued staring at the room.

Alhaji came in and sat close.

That woman out there is my first wife and also old enough to be your mother so she deserve respect from you. He said to her.

What about the other one? She asked him and he replied, she is my daughter.

I don't want any trouble in this house, respect yourself and live in peace with them. He said and she nodded.

He gave her the food he brought and she ate hungrily.
