Chapter Thirty

Mubeen so it has gotten to an extent that you will make a decision without consulting me first. Hajiya asked him in anger.

Hajiya am sorry, he said with his head down.

There has never been a divorce in this lineage, why must is be you that will start this shameful act.

If only your father was alive, maybe you would have discussed it with him since I don't deserve that. Hajiya said and bursted into an emotional cry.

Please stop crying, I promise this won't happen again. Mubeen said emotionally.

Just take your family and go back to your house, she said as she blew the  nose with her veil.

Doctor Sabrina opened the door and came in.

Hajiya I have been looking round for you, Lubna just told me you are here. She said.

What is going on here? She asked them when she noticed their long faces.

Doctor, your son has brought shame to this family. Hajiya replied her.

Doctor Sabrina turned to face Mubeen and asked him, what have you done?

He just kept quiet and bent his head.

Why is everyone keeping quiet, can someone please tell me what is going on? She asked almost on top of her voices.

I divorced Munaya. Mubeen murmured.

But why. It has not gotten to that. She said.

Doctor please tell him to leave my presence before I do something we will all regret later. Hajiya said in anger.

Mubeen just go for now. Doctor Sabrina said to him calmly.

Mubeen stood and stared at Hajiya for some minutes before he walked out.

Hajiya please calm down, this boy is not at fault here, I believe he is only trying to protect his home.

Doctor Sabrina said to Hajiya but she was still not convinced.

Doctor what will people say? She asked in teary eyes.

My sister you don't need to listen to what people would say.

No matter what you do in life, they would surely say something so let them say. Doctor Sabrina said to calm her down.

We should just pray for the best. She added.

Mubeen left angrily and went to meet Intisar.

Pack your bags, we are going home now. He said and she stare at him in surprise.

I thought we are leaving tomorrow, she said and he gave her a deadly look.

Meet me outside in the next 5mins..he said and left.

Intisar was surprised at his sudden change of attitude.

Mubeen that she know, don't get angry easily.

The children were with Lubna, so she just arranged their things and took them to the car then came back to get the children.

She went into the guestroom first to bid Hajiya farewell.

Hajiya we are ready to go, she said and they both looked at her surprised.

Why so early? Her mummy asked her.

Allow them to go. Hajiya said and turned her face away.

Doctor Sabrina did not say a word again. Intisar too just turned and walked out.

She went to also bid Samira goodbye, then got the children from Lubna.

Lubna escorted her to where the car was and stood there till they were out of sight.

She went back in and started dressing up because she is going out with her prince charming.

While in the car, Intisar wanted demanding for an explanation but Mubeen's mood did not give room for questions.

The only sound booming in the car was the children's voices and that of the Qur'anic recitation he was listening to.

When Munaya got to their gate, she picked up a stone and hit it hard on the gate.

The security man opened the door for her and she ran inside like a mad woman and lied down flat crying and rolling on the floor.

Alhaji, Mami and Aisha were startled, they all thought she was being chased by a dog or someone.

Alhaji went outside the gate to check but there was no one.

He came back and met her saying, "he has divorced me irrevocably, there is no marriage between us again".

He was shocked.

He felt as if an arrow just pierced through his heart.
