Wednesday 19th December 1984;

Remus smiled as he ended his call with Lily, she'd just told him they'd need him to pick up Harry right about now. So he ended closing the café up early, at around 15:01pm instead of the normal 16:10pm. He untied his apron, swept the floor as usual dancing along, this time, to Escape by Rupert Holmes, again using the brush as a microphone. He pulled on his jacket, tied his scarf around his neck and shut off the lights, locking the door as he left.

About half an hour later, He arrived at the Potter household. He smiled and jogged up to the door and knocked on the oak door. Small giggles and a loud squeal was heard.
"Uncwle Wemus!" Lily opened the door, holding an energetic baby Harry in her arms.
"Hey there little guy." Remus cooed, hugging the small child when Lily handed him over. Harry giggled and hugged Remus back, pulling on his high school scarf. Remus unwrapped it from around his neck and wound it loosely around Harry's little one. The child giggled and buried his face into the warm, knitted crimson and gold scarf.
"Your not getting that back now, remmy. That's Harry's now." James stated, leaning against the doorframe.
"I'll see if Mrs. Mcgonagall can knit him one. This is mine." Harry yawned and snuggled into Remus's jumper, falling asleep and snored lightly. James smiled and pat Remus's shoulder.
"Thanks for agreeing to baby sit, mate. I don't think we could have left him with anyone else." Remus nodded and watched as his high-school best friends loaded their suitcases into the back of their car, Lily walking over to give Harry a light peck on the forehead as not to wake him up.
"be good, my little Gremlin. Mama loves you." she whispered and kissed his little forehead again, making his tiny sleeping form snuggle closer into Remus. Lily smiled and looked at Remus.
"Thanks again, Remus." he smiled back at her freckled face.
"Anytime lil. Anytime." with one last giggle, she ran toward the car and James pulled out of the driveway, and then they where gone, Remus waving until they where completely out of sight. He looked down at baby Harry.
"Alright, time for some chocolate."

-

Remus sat on the sofa, again. This time, with little Harry asleep on his chest, sucking his thumb and giggling occasionally in his sleep. Remus smiled and held Harry close as he finished off his book, Wonder. He set the blue book down and picked up his hot chocolate instead. He took a sip and just as he did, Harry decided to wake up.
"Uncwle Wemus!" he squeaked, his little voice quite adorable to hear. Remus plucked one of the mini marshmallows from ontop of a mountain of whipped cream and held it out to Harry. The toddler gladly took it and shoved it into his little mouth, making Remus chuckle.
"Uncwle Wemus! I wonna watch movie!" Remus smiled again and turned on the small box television.
"Do you want to chose the movie, Harry?" he asked, cuddling Harry as he sat in his lap.
"Yea! I wonna watch dumbo!" Harry giggled, hugging Remus's finger in his tiny fist. Remus waited a while, and when Dumbo was finally showing on the channel, he left Harry to his own devices, letting himself slowly drift off to sleep.

-

Remus was awoken by something tugging his hair. His eyes shot open, thinking someone got into the house. But it was only Harry, the small child had managed to crawl back up onto Remus's chest and pull on the strands of hair that lay across his forehead. Remus smiled, before noticing small, brown, powdered handprints all over his white shirt. He raised an eyebrow at Harry, making the small boy giggle even more.
"Harry, what did you do?" Remus asked, getting suspicious.
"Nowing!" the child pouted, pretending to be annoyed that Remus thought it was him. Remus sighed and picked Harry up, resting him on his hip, and walked toward the kitchen.

Oh.

My.

God.

The kitchen was a mess. The fridge was wide open, the four bottles of milk open and all pouring milk into a huge river on the wood, the sink was overflowing. How Harry got up that high, Remus will never know. The cupboards where open, pots, pans, crisps, cereal. All of it was on the floor. Then, Remus discovered where the brown handprints came from.
"My chocolate powder!" Remus yelled, distressed that he'd now have to go all the way to the supermarket just for milk, chocolate powder and cereal. He looked down at Harry, seeing him smile back.

"Come on, Little man. Let's go shopping then. We'll clean up when we get back."
