Sunday 24th December 1984:

Remus sat bolt upright, his scar littered face tired, annoyed, cold and surprised. He'd had nice dreams that night, about Harry, Sirius and himself as a family. But waking up to face the harsh reality of society was like a slap in the face, or someone pouring ice cold water onto your naked body at seven in the morning.

"Who the hell throws water over you at seven in the morning?!" He yelled, frustration running through his veins.
"I would, Lupin." Remus looked up, his yellow eyes connected with dark brown. He could recognise those eyes anywhere.
"Nymphadora?" the woman smiled, slightly irritated but smiled none the less.
"Tonks." she stated through gritted teeth, still smiling though. Remus raised his hands in defence.
"Alright, alright. Anyways, how'd you get into my apartment?" she held up and jingled the key he'd forgotten to ask for back. "right." he stated, feeling extremely stupid.

He finally stood up, changing into his usual clothes; a white button up, black jeans and a navy blue jumper. He tried flattening out his brown, greying hair but failed miserably and just left it. When he walked away from the small wardrobe, he saw his ex fiance leaning against his bedpost, smirking.
"Sooo, you and my first cousin, huh?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows. "You've always had an eye for the black family, haven't you, Remus." the male blushed and tried covering his face with his sleeve.
"It's… it's not like that." he mumbled, his face a bright red.

When he and Tonks had reached Remus's coffee shop, they saw people already standing, sitting and chatting inside the shop.
"Ah, Authur must be here then." Tonks smiled and turned to her ex fiance.
"I can't stay, sadly. So I'll leave you with this." she placed a small peck on Remus's slightly cracked lips. The man blushed but smiled none the less at her.
"Yeah, I'll see you soon, Dora." she gave him a playful glare but waved as she turned the street corner.

Remus walked through the shop door, seeing Authur giving him a wide, estatic smile.
"Woah, Authur. What's got you so happy?" the ginger laughed lowly.
"She said yes! I asked Molly out on a date like Sirius suggested and she said yes!" soon enough, Remus was smiling too.
"That's great, mate! Now you just gotta tell her how you feel on preferably the second date. That's what I did." Authur gave him a look.
"Remus. You and Tonks got a divorce." The taller laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Ya never know."

Then, the bell above the door chimed loudly, catching Remus and Authur's attention. It was one very pissed looking Sirius Black and one slightly sheepish, but still struggling Peter Pettigrew. The black haired male had the shorter in a death grip, glaring every time Peter moved a muscle.
"I found out who got Lily and James." he stated firmly. His voice filled with rage and hate as he snarled in Peter's already petrified face.

Remus stared dumbly at the scene before him. Here stood the man he'd known a week, dragging in one of his best friends from high-school by the collar, claiming Lily and James's deaths were Peter's fault. He turned to Sirius, glaring tiredly at the male.
"Put him down Sirius. I'll deal with him if he has. Authur, can you take the shift for a minute or two?" Teh ginger nodded and started serving slightly shaken up customers. "Padfoot, Wormtail. You're both coming with me." the two males gulped but followed the taller up a flight of stairs and into a dusty, dark and damp room. A broken bed sat in one corner whilst everything else was too caked in dust to even be recognised as a spiders web at that point.

"Alright. Someone tell me what in earth is going on."

After an explanation from both Sirius and Peter, Remus decided one of them's seemed more believable.
"I'm sorry, Sirius. You can't just drag one of my best friends by the collar into my café and give some wild accusation that he's the reason my friend and his wife are dead." Sirius was shocked. Remus believed everything that lying rat was telling him?! He'd heard with his own ears that sneaky bastard expressing his triumph around a strip club nearby Remus's shop.
"You believe a lying rat's word over mine? I heard him boasting about how he made their car collide with a tree by jumping into the middle of the road so they had to swerve." The scarred male didn't look impressed at all.

"Get out." Both Peter and Sirius were confused. Peter more smug, but still confused. Sirius tilted his head, sort of like a confused dog.
"Remus, I-"
"I said, get out. You insolent little shit! How dare you accuse one of James and my closest friends of murdering him!"
"But it's true! He did!" Remus had had enough.
"Just get out of my shop, Black. I never want to see your face ever again! I can't believe I ever trusted you, let alone LOVED you."
"You love me?" Sirius was shaking with pain, sadness, defeat, anger and confusion.

"I said I loved you. Now get out of my sight."
