Monday 24th December 1984:

The sun's rays shone through Remus Lupin's curtains, making him open his eyes and then automatically close them again.
"Damm sunlight" he mumbled, looking down he recognised the familiar head of Pinky purple hair laying on his scarred chest. He smiled and gently kissed the woman's head. "Dora, it's time to get up." the pink ball just groaned and snuggled closer into the man's chest.

Remus smiled and kissed her forehead, sliding out of the bed, and walking downstairs to make himself a cup of hot chocolate. Then, he stopped. Why the hell had he told Sirius about that whole love thing? He didn't love Sirius. Right? But how would that explain the butterflies in his stomach whenever someone even mentioned Sirius's name?

He decided he'd ask the man about it in person and confront him about everything that had happened in the last day or two. He walked into the kitchen and made a hot chocolate for himself and when he had finished, he placed a small note on the counter for dora, dressed himself and walked out of the door.

-

After about twenty minutes, he found his way to the Black family mansion. He gulped as his golden eyes took in every inch of the gigantic building. The house was entirely black, made of what seemed to be black bricks. The roof was tiled in a light grey slate.

He shuffled nervously up the crumbling stone path, an unpleasant aura seemed to radiate from the entire estate. He looked up, shielding his eyes from the sunlight. Two of the seven windows were sealed up with bricks a shade lighter than the rest of the house. He shrugged and hesitantly rang the door bell.

A loud stumble came from the other side of the door, loud shouting and a smash of some sorts. Remus grew increasingly worried for his friend's wellbeing when the door swung open, revealing a dishevelled Sirius Black. Remus almost screamed at the sight.

The man wasn't the same as he was when they'd first met. The mischievous glint in his grey eyes, his pale yet healthy skin and his bouncy, well kept black hair were all gone. Replaced by unkept messes.

"You'd better come inside. It's freezing out here." he muttered, obviously not pleased with Remus's appearance out of the blue. The second his body was inside, the strong scent of alcohol abused his nose, making him cringe as he took in the sight of his friend's home. He felt guilty. Even more so than usual.
"Pads…my god I'm so sorry. I don't know what it is but… but I can fix i-"
"DON'T, call me that." Sirius was looking down at the floorboards, calming his nerves before he ended up slapping Lupin.

Smack

The noise was deafening. Sirius felt completely fine, until the sudden floods of pain rushed around his swelling cheek. He stood straight up and lost it with the younger man sat in front of him.
"What the hell, Lupin! Why'd you hit me?!" Remus stayed sat down, looking not in the slightest guilty at all. "I did nothing to you, and then you decide to physically assault me?! What's your prob-"

His sentence was muffled as he was pulled into a warm embrace. He looked up, seeing the tawny haired man crying. He was extremely confused.
"Moony? What's wrong?"
"I thought I'd lost you," he cried into the shorter male's black, scraggy mop of hair. "I'm so sorry I shouted at you, Pads. I should have believed you."
Sirius smiled and hugged him back just as tightly.

When they did eventually pull back, they just stared at each other. Not moving, their arms wrapped securely around the other.  Try as he might, Sirius couldn't keep his eyes off of his friend's. The way his golden eyes reflected almost magically as the light bounced off of them, it made him look like some sort of mythical animal, like a werewolf.

But everyone knows werewolves don't exist.

Remus on the other hand, was admiring and even playing with Sirius's unkept hair, twirling the curls around his fingers and drawing small, intricate patterns across Sirius's back with his fingertips.

"Remus… I… I've got to know." Sirius started, but stopped when Remus placed a finger to his pale lips.
"You want to know if what I said in the upstairs café was true. Correct?" he asked, a strange expression plastered across his beautiful features. The black nodded.

"Yes, Sirius. It's true. Well… at least it was." he whispered the last part under his breath, hoping to god the other wouldn't hear him. Once he'd finished, the other man leant forward, his lips inches above Remus's own, so close, in fact that the younger could feel the man's breath against his lips.
"Sirius…" the black haired male was about to kiss him, when,

"Let's get you cleaned up."

-

As they made their way up the creaky staircase, Sirius couldn't help but wonder if he actually was gay. Remus'd accept him as gay, right? He decided now wasn't the time and continued up the stairs behind Remus.

When Sirius reached the bathroom, Remus already had a bath running. Warm water spilled from the taps into the white porcelain tub, a gentle steam rising from the water.

"No, Moony. You can't make me get in there." Remus only smiled and advanced toward the smaller man.
"Watch me"

-

About an hour later, Sirius was sat on the closed toilet seat, facing the wall as the tawny haired man stood behind him with a pair of sissors and trimmed his black locks.
"Are you done yet, Moony?"  the man asked, sulking as he heard small parts of his hair being chopped off.
"Almost… and… done!" when Sirius looked in the mirror, his hair was completely back to it's normal length, if not a bit soggy from the bath.

Two hands lay on the male's shoulders, turning him around. It was Remus. They stared at each other for about a minute before remus pulled out a small white tube of cream.
"Moony, what's tha-" he was interrupted when Remus squeezed the tube, a dollop of white cream slithered out of the tube and onto his fingertip.

"Close your eyes, it'll help with the soreness underneath. "

-

About seven minutes later, Remus and Sirius were sitting at the mansion's personal bar. The room was lit by several oil lamps hanging from golden hooks nailed into the walls.

"So, I says to him, if you get half of the money I get the other!" Remus chuckled at the older man's obvious weakness with alcohol and rubbed his back soothingly.
"I think that's enough whisky for you tonight, Pads." the other man whined and reached for another full bottle, but was stopped hi Remus grabbing his hand in an empty attempt of stopping him.

They looked up at each other, eyes shining and mouths slightly hung open. Both were drunk, Remus a bit tipsy but oh well. As they stared, their hands intertwining atop the bar went completely unnoticed.
"I- I think it's time for me to leave." Remus mumbled, going to stand up before he was yanked back down again, his lips colliding with Sirius's.
