Author's Note: This is a short and simple story I wrote for a project in a certain subject in my school. With the theme "Looks Can Be Deceiving.""Have you ever thought of marriage Xyriel?" We were now living together for almost three years. She's the kind of girl who loves parties, a girl who loves new experiences. That was what I loved about her, a fearless woman. "But Ben we're not ready for that." But I always wonder why she kind of hated commitment. "You're the only one who is not ready Xyriel. But I'm willing to wait for you."
"I know it sounds too cliche, but what should I do? I was too blinded with love back then." I narrated my past to my girl best friend, Julia, who helped me move on from my ex. We were walking in a garden of roses while we were talking. She smiled in admirations she picked one red rose and had her finger pricked but she didn't flinch, as if she intentionally did it. "She was just like this beautiful rose, deceived by its beauty you didn't notice how dangerous she could be." I chuckled by what she said but realized she's actually right. I was worried for a second seeing the blood, but she just wiped it off with wet wipes. "But what is really the one she is chasing?" Julia asked but it seems like she already knew the answer.
"I thought she was in love to chase after me, but little did I know she was just after my fortune. Her sweet words felt true. Her kind and loving actions made me fall for her trap. Her angelic face made me visualize her using a halo as a disguise to hide her true colors and true intentions." I smiled sadly as I stare at the roses. Nostalgic memories flashed back like spilled photographs. "Too many years were wasted because of her."
"No Ben m, you're wrong. People come and go to our lives, they could either be a lesson or a blessing. Those years might leave scars but she contributed a big part to the better person you are today." I genuinely smiled and hugged her. "And I think you're the girl who barged into my life, I'm thankful that you did because I consider you as a blessing. I love you, Julia."
