All over the world, drug addiction is one of the problems that we face today. The War on drugs campaign started in order to define and further reduce the illegal drug trade and fight against drug dealers. Some people opposed to this idea, while others agreed to it. A user on Twitter posted her stand and statement regarding this issue. It is obvious that this tweeter user disagrees with "War On Drugs". Firstly, it is because she is a drug user even though she seldomly uses it. I assumed that to her line "as a sometime drug user" which I think is a term that doesn't actually exist. This user is pointing out that they could find multiple ways to use drugs and concluded that war on drugs will fail.
But I disagree with her statement. She is saying that war on drugs is a failure and she emphasized the word failure by capitalizing it. How come she already had a conclusion when in fact War On Drugs is still happening? How could you have a conclusion without the actual result? War on drugs is not an instant process, it takes time to be finished. And I think through the long process, it could have a positive result.
Drug addiction could be solved if we would help each other to change for the better. If you're looking for hope, you should find change within yourself first. Don't let yourself be a burden to your country because of drug addiction.
