bonus chapter: peanut

Here's a bonus chapter with Payton's side storyline/subplot. Making him die was so sad for me but that's the tough decisions you have to do as a writer. I hardly do playlist but here some's sad songs that you can listen to as you read along.

Avani disliked Payton for a while. He broke her heart. She didn't want nothing to do with him. Every time someone mentioned his name, she would simply tell them he's was out of the equation. She became cold. Payton was first boy she ever really fell in love with and how he turned how down, she was still hurting. Avani always mentally prepared herself to see him in the hallways or in class.

It was like the girl code. When a guy rejects you, you immediately have to avoid certain places that you might see him at. Avani told herself if she saw him that she would just walk right passed him with head held high. As if he didn't exist. The problem was, the young girl never saw Payton after that day. She thought maybe he was avoiding her too but then he didn't at lunch or taking the bus anymore.

A week had passed by and she assumed Payton went on vacation. Then, a month had flew by and she was growing more concerned. When English was over, she walked up to Griffin who was roaming in the halls. "Do you know where Payton is?" She tapped his shoulder. "He changed schools" Griffin lied to her. He only one that knew what was going on with Payton. He swore to Payton he'll keep his secret safe with him.

Avani shook her head slightly, "Why would he just leave and go to a different school?" She questioned. The young girl believed the lie because the last time she saw him, he was cleaning his locker out. He shrugged, "He wanted a new start I guess". Avani rolled her eyes, "I can see that now" the whole thing with Payton lashing out on her, he probably didn't want her in his life.

Griffin felt bad for her. "I know this is not your business but he hasn't spoken to me.. can you tell him to call me back when he has the chance?" She gave him a tight lipped smile. "Yeah sure I will" She quietly thanked him before leaving for yellow bus. The girl went home and waited by her phone all night. It was close to one a.m and she yawned.

She rubbed her eyes sleepily and the going underneath her orange comforter. Avani felt like she was going to knock out any minute. The brown haired girl reached her lamp light to  switch it off. She gently laid her head on her fluffy pillow, ready to sleep. Suddenly, her phone vibrated in her hand. She glanced at it, seeing the display name "Peanut🥜💞💗".

She smiled hard and picked up the call. "Hey Peanut I miss you!" Avani was all happy to hear from him. Even a phone call can make her happy. "hey" his voice was very low and raspy. She kinda frowned a bit because Payton didn't seem all excited to speak to her. "Are you okay?" She asked. "Yes.." he said slowly. It was silent for a moment because Avani felt like something was wrong.

She didn't push it though, she let it go. "How is your new school? I want to hear all about it.. Did you make new friends? Are you adjusting okay? Wait why did you even change schools?" She overwhelming him with a ton of questions. Payton sighed heavily because the reality is that he was laying in a hospital bed not at school. She did not know that so he couldn't blame her.
