CHILD OF THE GHOSTS by Jonathan Moel

Genre: Adventure, Fantasy, Amazing

This is not a romance! I repeat, this is not a romance! If you don't have a kindle, I'm not entirely sure it's you know, a 'real' book. I'll put up a 'real' book soon. I read most books on kindle so sorry. Anyway, this is more action/adventure with a dash of humor and horror. It's an interesting mix. I was really entertained by this, couldn't put it down. It was free on kindle.

So I really liked this book. It's really interesting and very well written. I recommend it whole heartily.

I LOVED THE WORLD THE AUTHOR CREATED!! I always appreciate when an author makes up an entire world with whole new government systems, housing situations, and terminology. It makes me really tell when an author puts real thought and hard work into their passion.

I assume you all read Harry Potter? Seen the movies? Heard about him? Okay? There's a great example of what I'm talking about. J.K Rowling put so much thought into her books, it's insane. And not only did she make another world, it's closely linked to the regular one. And she came up with various creatures, books, spells, and jobs that DO NOT EXIST AND HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY BEEN THOUGHT OF! I love those books so much...

But back to this book. Be warned, it can get kinda gory at some points. It's not bad so don't worry about it too much. I'm just sayin...

In my grade book, it gets a B+.

It was a good story but it was advertised as a romance and it isn't so I took off points for that. It might not bug you as much so feel free to grade it an A.

Summary:

Oh jeez, this is going to be hard. There's just so much action! So much happens in this book. I don't even know where to start. The main character's name is Caina. Her mother is a magus (it's like a witch) and she hated both her daughter and her husband. She used her magic on her daughter as often as she could. Because this author made an entirely new world, there was a school for witches (like Hogwarts) and Caina's mom was booted out of it because her magic wasn't strong enough. No matter how stupid that one detail seems to be, trust me it leads to an interesting chain of events that drives the whole story. Caina gets kidnapped by the magus that taught her mother to increase her magical abilities from death. She's tortured and humiliated but then she's saved by the Ghosts. And she joins their ranks because of both her amazing abilities and her drive for revenge. Then she goes out to kill the evil magus that tortured her though it seems impossible to do so. I mean, jeez! The Ghosts even used a rare, very magical weapon and it didn't kill the magus! But Ciana finds a way. Oh boy, does she find a way.

So yeah. That's the gist.

Once again, I LOVED THIS BOOK! It's enthralling.
