"C'mon in," Alice said.
The actress pushed the door open and found Alice and Morganne sat down on the bed. Both of their cheeks were covered in tears.
Shelby sighed, frowning as she saw their faces. She gripped her lover's hand a little tighter as they stepped into the room. "I-I'm really sorry for all of this." She said softly.
"It's not your fault, Shelby, not at all," Alice said, tapping on the spot in front of her and Morganne.
Audrey walked to the bed, pulling Shelby with her, sitting down on it.
Shelby sat next to her lover, looking up at them timidly. "Are you... are you guys okay?"
Alice nodded, caressing her daughter's back. "We are." She smiled softly.
Audrey smiled softly, as well, as she looked at the girl. "Are you alright, sweetpea?"
The girl only nodded, not taking her eyes away from her tiny hands.
"Are you upset or sad?" Shelby asked softly as she gently placed her hand over Morganne's caressing it.
Morganne nodded once again, holding Shelby's hand. "I'm just... sad Anne wasn't the right person for Mommy." The girl said softly, looking up at them with teary, brown eyes.
"Sometimes the right person comes when we least expect, sweetpea." Audrey said as she kept her tone gentle, pulling a stray piece of messy, brown hair behind the girl's ear.
"She's right. I never thought I'd find someone, and then there was Audrey. She's my soulmate, and everyone has one. Sometimes it just takes time to find them." Shelby explained.
Alice smiled sadly as she looked down. "She's right, baby."
Audrey melted at her lover's words, caressing her waist as she did so, pulling the woman closer.
"I guess..." the girl nodded. "She said my room was not a girl's room..."
"She was wrong." The actress quickly reassured the girl. "Your room is the coolest room I've ever seen, and what matters is that it matches you and that you like it... not to mention that I've never seen a room with a gender. Have you?"
"I have not," Shelby said, and Alice nodded in agreement. "Your room is like you, perfect, cool and amazing, sweetheart. It doesn't need to change."
"That's true, baby." Alice smiled to her daughter, who opened a soft smile.
"That's true... I like my room." Morganne said softly, shyly.
"And that's what matters, sweetpea." Audrey smiled at the girl.
"Exactly." Shelby smiled. "Plus, you've got all these really cool and amazing projects that you've got going on. I think that's really awesome." She said, hoping to cheer Morganne up even more.
"They are amazing, sweetheart! I always tell you that when I come here to give you our goodnight kiss." Alice said softly, loving.
"I agree." Audrey nodded, the girl giggling as she smiled even more.
"Thanks," Morganne said, shyly once again.
"And I know for a fact that we are all very proud of what you have done so far, and for everything you are going to do one day." Shelby said with a smile.
"I'm the proudest mother in the world," Alice said.
"And Shelby and I are the proudest aunties," Audrey said sweetly, smiling at her lover and then at the girl.
"I guess," the girl giggled once again as she smiled shyly. "Thank you, guys."
"Of course," Shelby said as she caressed the girl's hands one last time. "Now promise me that you will come spend the night with us tomorrow. It'll be our last night here, and I would love to have you with us. We can order pizza and finally watch the end of Frozen."
