Chapter 20: Night Time Feelings

As soon as they called it a night, nika, aiger, and arlo went to bed in the the guest quarters. But when everyone was asleep, aiger was still up. He had thought about what Sophie said at dinner. About he and nika being a couple. Why did I feel embarrassed when sophie asked us, he thought to himself. We're not even dating, heck, I don't even know a thing about dating, he thought again. But then again, she is kind of cute, he said while blushing. Augh, I don't even know what I'm thinking, he said in frustration. But little did he know, he was being watched. While arlo was asleep, nika was also awake. She saw aiger on the porch, and wondered what he was thinking. So she cast a spell that would let her hear the thoughts of others. And she heard all of his thoughts. When aiger said she was cute, she blushed and started having thoughts of her own. He thinks I'm cute, I don't think anyone's ever thought that before, she thought. I admit, he's cute too, but if he found out, he might ask me out when we get home, she kept thinking. And if toko or valt found out, they'll kill him. But still, he's a nice guy, impulsive, but nice. As she thought, she was blushing, and decided to wait for how it would all play out. A few seconds later, aiger came back inside to get some sleep. Once he went inside, nika pretended to sleep so he wouldn't see her awake. But he noticed, and went to see if she was alright. I know your still awake nika, is everything okay?, he asked with concern. I'm fine, nothing's wrong, she exclaimed nervously. Aiger was hesitent to say something. Hey nika, I've been meaning to ask you, what do you think about me?
