Chapter 30: Tartarus

The four of them were in the chariot and on the way to tartarus. Nico showed them around along the way. After five minutes, they were nearing a cave guarded by furries. Nico landed the chariot on an edge near the cave. The four got off the chariot, and started walking. They followed nico as he walked on a path leading to the cave. Once they got to the entrance, they made contact with the guard furries. They let out a piercing screech while showing a fire in their eyes. Nika and aiger screamed in terror and tried to run away, but the furries had them surrounded. The two fainted after being so scared. But the the two half-bloods caught them. The furries started laughing at the memory of the two being so scared. And the two demi-gods couldn't help but laugh as well. After a few minutes, they stopped laughing. But then nico spoke up. We're here to collect shock stone, he told them. Yes, your father has informed us, the leader furry responded. The three of us will escort you down, the leader said. While the rest of us, take care of those two, she said again. Very well, nico said. But do not eat them, he demanded. Not even an arm, she asked. Not even a finger, he said making himself clear. Fine, she complained. They entered the elevator that lead down, arlo started to worry. Something on your mind, nico asked. I don't exactly trust having those furries take care of those two. They might eat a part of them, that we might not notice, he responded. Don't worry about it, dad must of explained it to them. And besides, nika can regenerate, and aiger's invincible, what can possibly go wrong, nico assured him. What can go wrong is what's making me worry, arlo thought to himself. Once the elevator stopped, it opened to reveal many large, reinforced, and well guarded prisons, lava pits and geysers, and furries flying around. The group walked for a few minutes, and reached a large deposit of shock stone. Nico used his powers to collect enough shock stone for the project. Once they had enough, they went back to the elevator, and went up. After a while, they made it back to the top. They saw aiger and nika in one peice, which was lucky for them. They went back to the chariot and took off. During the flight, aiger and nika woke up. Oh, your both awake, arlo told them. What happened, aiger asked. We were greeted by the guards of tartarus, you got scared, and passed out, arlo explained. As their memories came back, the two of them paled to be completely white. Those were the guards, they both exclaimed. Yeah, pretty much, arlo said. How come you guys weren't scared, they exclaimed again. We both been trained not to be scared at a lot of of things. It wasn't a good experience, but it helps in attracting ladies, arlo said. They both looked at him with an "are you kidding me" look. Are you serious, they both said. Yes I am, but anyway, we got the shock stone, he told them. Great now we just need to go back, nika said. I got that covered, nico said steering the chariot to a new location. They stopped in front of a wall made of boulders a few minutes later. What are we doing here, aiger asked. This is another way into and out of the underworld, nico explained. We just need some music. Then he pulled out a flute and played.

The gate started to open and arlo took control of the chariot. Away, he commanded. The chariot went into the gate, everything became pitch black, and it felt like they were moving faster than sound. After forty-three minutes, they saw a light. It got closer and eventually, they were back in the forest were the Hephaestus kids lived. They thanked nico as he went back to the underworld. Now the trio were on their way to finish the project, and impress the head-master, and maybe see nico again when he attends school with them.
