After dinner, I invited myself to take a shower in my bedroom. The sun had already set, and cool air blew into my room through the window.
Soon as I got out of the shower, I got put on a tank top and sweat pants and made my way quietly up to the deck of the ship.We were sailing past the city. The street lights passing below cast a soft yellow light on the buildings. Large neon signs lit up the night sky.
I sat down on the edge of the deck and let my legs dangle off, resting my arms on the short railing of the ship. Cool night air ruffled my hair refreshingly.
"Man, I should have grabbed a cup of tea," I said quietly to myself and rested my chin on my arms.A few minutes passed and the city was far behind us. The sudden retreat of light made the sky take over in the production of light. I sighed contentedly at the calmness and quiet.
"Heard you wanted a cup of tea," a sudden high-pitched male voice spoke quietly from behind me. I jumped as I turned around.
Jay stood behind me with two cups of tea in his hands and a nearly apologetic smile on his face. His eyes- bright, icy blue- had a tint of joy in their blue depths.
"Oh, thank you," I said and accepted the steaming liquid.
We sat in silence for a while, just enjoying the sound of the wind rustling the trees.

Jay sat down next to the young lady on the deck. They sipped at their tea in a contented silence.
He turned his head to look at her. The way the light of the night sky outlined her side profile made a feeling erupt in the pit of his stomach. A feeling he had only felt when he first met Nya. A feeling he never thought he would experience again.
The soft light reflected off of her e/c eyes, causing them to almost glow. The small sliver of highlight brought his attention to the curve of her lips.
No, Jay told himself. It's too soon. Too soon for both of us.
He shook his head, drawing the woman's attention.
"Hey, is everything ok?" She asked, worry showing in her eyes.
"Y-yeah, perfectly fine," Jay responded as he returned his gaze to the night sky.
"Oh. Ok." Y/n sipped her tea thoughtfully.
The two lasted back into another silence, however this one was much more strained. Neither of the pair wanted to speak up, so the tension became increasingly awkward.
"Damn it," Y/n whispered to herself.
Jay snickered.
"What? It's entirely your fault we're sitting her like this right now," Y/n joked, shoving his arm.
"Oh, because I wanted to be nice to the outlaw guest?" Jay jabbed playfully.
"Yes," Y/n responded, "it is."
"Wow, Y/n, real mature."
"Thank you, Sir Walker," Y/n used a false accent.
Jay stood up. "I think I'm going to bed. Goodnight, Y/n," he said.
"Night," and with that, Jay left.
