Let me tell you. When I say sleep did not come easy, I mean I couldn't fall asleep until about 4 in the morning, and even then it was troubled and uncomfortable.
Frustrated, I looked at my clock and sighed. The bright green numbers being held by the Spiderman figure glared intimidatingly at me. 5:14.
"Holy Thor," I groaned out loud as I smacked my forehead with one hand.
My door burst in.
An angry Kai stood in my doorway, seething. "What the hell did you tell him, L/n?" He demanded. I groaned again and rolled over to face away from him.
"Fuck off, Katsuki," I said. That, however, seemed to make it worse, as Kai stalked over to my bed and kicked it.
"What the hell did you tell him?"
I sat up, annoyance now matching Kai's anger. "I told him you bruised me, asshole."
Kai paused. "Wait what?"
I stood and glared at him as I pushed him away from me by the chest. "I told him when you kissed me against my will that you bruised my sides by fucking holding me like you were! You had absolutely no fucking right to even touch me, let alone what you did." I was seething right back at the fiery man.
"Shit, really?" Kai's gaze seemed to soften and even turn to one of worry. "Y/n, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to I-"
"Get out," my voice was shaking. "Get the fuck out of my room, Kai."
"Please, let me explain-"
"No, Kai you can explain later but not right now. Please, just leave me alone."
Kai looked defeated. "Okay," he said. "You don't have to talk to me, but I'm getting Jay."
I looked at him confused. His entire personality towards me had changed so fast if gave me whiplash but I'd be damned for lying if I said it wasn't for the better. "What do you mean?" I asked.
"You obviously look upset. I'm sending Jay in here because obviously I don't deserve your trust. You need someone to talk to so you can get it off your chest." Kai walked out of my room.
About three minutes passed before a very sleepy Jay walked in. "Hey, Y/n, what's up?"
"What did you say to Kai?" I ignored his question and went straight into asking him one of my own.
"Oh basically, after you went to sleep tonight I confronted him and called him a criminal."
My exhausted brain was scrambling for any context and I ended up just laying down facing the wall.
Jay stood awkwardly in my room, not quite knowing what to do. I rolled back over and opened the covers, looking at him expectantly. He hesitated before climbing into the bed with me. I quickly wrapped my arms around him and he did the same.
I had already decided not to talk about anything out of spite for Kai, but I could always use the affection.
It was odd because we were already fairly comfortable with each other and I was already in the weird phase where all I wanted was a hug. Jay slowly moved one hand up and down my back, causing my entire body to go slack in relaxation.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything to him," Jay whispered into the comfortable silence.
I shook my head. "No, I think we actually worked some stuff out," I said.
One of Jay's hands moved into my hair and scratched lightly at my scalp, pushing me into an even more relaxed state. It was a rare happening for me to be so at ease, but I guess it was just my touch starved self not being able to focus on much other than the warmth.
"Jay?" I muttered as I could feel sleep finally return to me.
"What's up?"
"I really like you.." I said as my eyes finally shut and I sank into dreams. With how overloaded my emotions were, I didn't even notice how extremely catastrophic those four words could possibly be.
