Chapter 16: Heels and Feels

I smiled sweetly upon seeing the entrace of the Heroine Hotel.

Nakalatag ang gold carpet mula entrance ng hotel hanggang dulo ng grand staircase nito.

Kaya naman magkasundo kami ni Brittany. She knows too well what grandeur is!

My heart throbs erratically when my heels laid upon the silky gold carpet. The chandeliers are gold too!

Fuck red carpet! Gold carpet is freakin' gorgeous!

"Hoy Aleia. Kalma." Sita sa akin ni Nate na natatawa pa sa reaksyon ko.

"Walang kakalma, Nate. This is fucking amazing!" I exclaimed. "I am so freaking stoked!"

Sino bang hindi mae-excite nito? Hindi pa ganoon karami ang naroon pero marami na akong nakikitang hottie.

"Wag kang lalayo sa akin." Bulong ni Nate na ikinasimagot ko.

"Tell that to yourself. Alam ko naman na atat ka na makipagflirt." Sagot ko nang nakataas ang kilay.

"I'm a changed man." He said like he's the most decent man in the world.

"Yeah, sure." I said sarcastically.

We walk toward the venue of the annual ball. Medyo madami na ang nandoon at talaga namang naglalakihang pangalan ang mga nakikita ko—mga sikat na artista, politiko, atleta, negosyante at iba pang mga bigating persona.

"Aleia!"

Napalingon ako nang may tumawag sa akin.

"Yvonne!" I exclaimed upon recognazing her.

Lumapit kami ni Nate sa kanya at agad ako nitong bineso.

Yvonne Medina is a famous model. Nakatrabaho ko na ito sa isang shoot ko sa sikat na magazine. She's quite pretty but of course I'm prettier.

Malagkit ang tingin nito kay Nate. She's too obvious. Hindi manlang nahiya sa kasama nitong date which is another familiar face, Johnny Hanes. I've met him several times too sa ilang shoots ko sa tv commercial. Isa kasi siyang producer. He's handsome but not strikingly handsome na paglalawayan mo. Mediocre— I think that's the word that suits him.

"Si Hanes nga pala, Aleia. I'm not sure but I think you knew each other already." Sabi ni Yvonne.

"Yeah. Few times." Saad ni Johnny habang nakatitig sa akin. "Just not sure if she remembered though."

"Yeah. I think so." Kunwari ay nakalimutan ko para hindi siya mag assume na type ko siya. He looks like a clingy weirdo. Magkasinglagkit sila kung tumingin ni Yvonne. "By the way, this is Nathaniel. Nate si Yvonne nga pala. We worked as co-models para sa isang cover ng sikat na magazine." I introduced Nate since halatang-halata naman na kanina pa hinihintay ni Yvonne iyon.

Ginagap naman ni Nate ang kamay ni Yvonne at hinalikan. It took all my willpower to stop myself from throwing up. Ugh. The classic playboy move.

Pasimple kong tinignan ang reaksyon ni Yvonne. She is totally smitten. Poor thing.

"By the way, Aleia. You look great in that gown." Komento naman ni Johnny na halatang naasiwa din sa dalawa.

Tila natauhan naman si Yvonne. "Johnny's right. You look stunning."

"I know right." Umikot pa ako nang mabagal para ipakita ang suot ko. The beige backless gown fits my body perfectly. It's studded with jewels in front making a magnificent pattern on my chest to the end of the gown. And I match this with cream coloured stilletos.
