Chapter 5: Home for Friendsgiving

I finished packing my bag for the week and laid down next to Jackson on the bed. "Are you sure you can't come? I don't think I can wait till Bryce and Chloe's wedding this weekend to see you." I pouted and he tapped my nose.

"I really have to spend Thanksgiving in Santa Monica. I'll see you Saturday morning though. It's just 6 days apart." I traced along his torso.

I looked at the time 9:45 AM. "Ugh I gotta get on the road. I'll see you Saturday..." I stood up and he threw his shirt on.

"See you Saturday Babe!" We walked Down to the parking lot. "Are you sure you're okay taking the Jeep this week?"

"I'll be fine, you put steps on it. Just take care of my Range Rover." He smiled and kissed me.

"Drive Safe." He started walking to the Range Rover.

"Drive safe." I said getting into the Jeep. I quickly paired my phone and started on the Drive home."

Around 6 PM I pulled up into the driveway. There were a lot of other cars here because we were doing Friendsgiving tonight since Bryce and Chloe were getting married the weekend after thanksgiving.

I got out and grabbed my bag and wheeled it up to the door and walked in.

"ABBY!" Jess and Hannah yelled running over to hug me.

"HANNAH! JESS!" They instantly started asking questions about Jackson.

"Okay, we can have girl time after dinner. I gotta greet everyone else." They nodded and talked amongst themselves.

"How is it you live closest to home and still were the last to come home." Monty said coming out of this kitchen giving me a hug.

"Because, I had to see Jackson off." He smiled.

"You know Zach's in the kitchen..." my stomach flipped. "Did you bring Jackson with you?"

"No. He went to Santa Monica for thanksgiving." He nodded.

"Is that Abby!?" Bryce yelled from the kitchen. "Abby come in here!" He called. I took a deep breath and I walked into the kitchen. Bryce, and Chloe were cooking and Justin, And Zach we're sitting at the island.

"ABBY!" Justin said coming to give me a hug.

He whispered quietly "Zach's been asking about you all night." I gave him a small smile and went to hug Chloe and Bryce.

"Good to see you." Bryce said handing me a glass of wine. Zach cleared his throat.

"Hey Zach." He smiled warmly at me.

"Hey Abby, where's Jackson?"

"Santa Monica. He's spending thanksgiving with his family. He'll be here for The wedding though." He nodded and sipped his whiskey.

He motioned for us to go out in the backyard and I went out the screen door and he closed it behind him. We walked outside to the fire pit, and we stood on the deck around it. 

"What do you want to talk about Zach?" He finished his drink and sighed.

"Why are you already dating someone new?"  I got irritated.

"YOU BROKE UP WITH ME! do you remember that? You broke up with me the day we were supposed to leave for UCLA. And like an asshole, you left me on the corner crying. I called after you and you just drove away." He stiffened. "A MAN WOULD NEVER LEAVE LIKE THAT. WHAT WOULD YOUR DAD SAY ABOUT THAT."

He looked at me shocked that I said that, I instantly felt bad. My heart broke, I would never stoop that low and bring up his dad.

"Fuck off Abby." He rubbed his face and turned back around. "What would Jeff say." My heart hurt. I deserved that. "Fuck, let's retry this." I nodded and he motioned for me to sit on the bench.

"I'm not gonna ask for you to forgive me. But, know that I still love you as a friend. And one day if you leave Jackson and want to come back. I'll be waiting." I smiled.

"I love you too Zach, as a friend. And I'm sure you should find yourself a girlfriend and not wait around." He looked sad.

I stood up. "Just know my heart still hurts about how you left...it broke
Me." I grabbed my glass of wine and went back inside.

Soon dinner was done and we all sat down and it was time for what we were thankful for.

Bryce: I'm thankful for my little family, I'm thankful to have all of you here again. And I'm thankful for getting married to a beautiful woman.

Chloe: I'm thankful for Savvy, and Bryce. And I'm so thankful to be here with you guys.

Justin: I'm thankful for you guys really, the Walker family for hosting us again. And for Jess for making long distance work.

Jessica:  I'm thankful for being here with you guys. And for being with Justin.

Hannah: I'm thankful for having such great friends, and having Clay in my life. And for being able to be here again.

Clay:  I'm just thankful to have a brother like Justin, and for having friends like you guys.

Monty: I'm thankful for given the opportunity to go to MSU and having so many good friends to have

Tony: I'm thankful for my car again, and having great friends.

Zach: I'm thankful for Ab- for FSU and for friends and family.

Abby: I'm thankful that I'm alive and that Jeff is still watching over us, but I wish he was here with us. And I'm thankful I'm getting a sister this weekend.

We ate and talked about stuff that's happened at college so far. I enjoyed being back with my friends again.
