Chapter Four:
School was insane the next few days with the homecoming game on Friday and everyone trying to get a date for the dance. I'm just happy all I have to worry about is getting a dress. Callie and I plan on going to our usual dress store today after school so we can let the guys know what color shirt or tie they need to match us.
Daddy hadn't let me drive my new car until the garage for it was finished but that's alright, he said it would only be a few days so I didn't mind much. I just kept the secret of my new car from everyone until today. As I pulled up in front of Kayln's house I saw his eyes bulge out of his head for a few seconds.
"New wheels?" He asked as he opened the door and slid right into the leather seat.
"Mhm." I said laughing as he slid around.
"I like it, now onward. I want to see how fast this baby can go!"
"I have to be responsible with this car or it gets taken away so no." I said pulling out to drive to Callie's.
"Ugh, you're no fun." He said relaxing into the seat.
"I like this car." I said defensively.
"Whatever you say party pooper." He said closing his eyes.
I just laughed and drove on plugging in my cell phone to put on my own music.
"Gimme." Kayln said snatching my phone from my grasp and proceeding to flip through it.
"Hey, that's kind of my phone." I said poking him.
"No texting and driving." He said laughing as I rolled my eyes waiting for him to out on a song.
To my surprise he put on what I was least expecting, I thought he would put on Bring Me the Horizon or Asking Alexandria. Instead he put on A Day To Remember's song 'If It Means A Lot To You'.
"Nice choice." I said taking my phone and putting it in the cup holder.
"Thanks." He said quietly as the song filled the car.
I hummed along as he quietly sang to the music. Too soon for my liking we arrived at Callie's meaning the beautiful silence needed to end.
"You," I said poking Kayln again, " in the back, now." I said unlocking the doors.
I looked on Callie's porch and she sat there reading again, I honked the horn of my new car to get her attention making he drop her book.
"Pervert! Move along!" She yelled at my car.
"Get your ass in the car Callie!" I yelled rolling my window down.
"Oh!" She said laughing as she grabbed her bag. "New car?" She said hopping in where Kayln was just sitting.
"What can I say? My daddy loves me." I said rubbing the steering wheel practically hearing them both roll their eyes.
"If you two ladies are done can we go to school now?" Kayln said turning the stereo up to hear 'Have Faith In Me'.
"Oh, yeah, school." I said pulling the car out of Callie's driveway and onto the open road.
As we drove I heard Callie trying to talk but the music was over powering her.
"What Cal?" I said turning the music down enough that I could finally hear her voice over it.
"I said, dress shopping today right?" Her eyes hopeful.
"Oh, yeah." I said reassuring her.
"What color do you want? I'm thinking a royal purple for me and an either electric or royal blue for you." She said starting her normal talk in the mornings.
