Chapter Seven:

The next day could not have been anymore stressful then it was. Mom was rushing around the house making everything spotless for pictures, Chris had a doctors appointment, and Callie and I were getting ready for homecoming. Callie had brought all of her stuff to my house to get ready and she said she would do my hair for me so I wouldn't have to worry about not doing it right.

As I put on makeup Callie pulled most of my long black hair back into a tight high bun. I could feel her tugging and pulling at places then spraying it with hairspray to keep it stiff and high.

"All done." Callie said very triumphantly as she grabbed my hand mirror off the dresser and showed me the back through the mirror.

The high bun was twisted in so many ways that it looked like a rose on the back of my head with light curls falling down my back underneath the bun and laying softly on my open back. She had left my bangs alone to fall to the side of my face as always.

"Callie it's beautiful!" I said giving her a hug tightly.

"Thank you, now don't ruin it." She said pushing me away. She moved on to straighten her hair as she always does for dances. I lightly applied the royal blue eyeshadow to my lid as I accented it with a light silver to try and make it match the dress more.

Just as I finished slipping into my heels I heard my mom yell at the boys were here.

"Ready?" I heard Callie say from the door.

"Let's go." I said giggling as we latched our manicured hands together and continued to walk out of the bathroom.

As we started coming down the center staircase mom started snapping pictures of us hand in hand. She had one of us on beach connecting staircase then looking at each other the. Lastly one of dead center at the bottom. The boys were freshly shaven and probably as handsome as they could be.

Ethan's light blonde hair was pushed up in a beautiful spikes fashion while Daniels hair was slicked forward clearly showing he had put a jar of gel into it. Both had black suits on with white dress shirts underneath. Ethan's tie clung to the fabric beautifully just like I had hoped it would while Daniels tie was just a basic purple to match Callie's dress.

My mom continued to have us in couples on the stairs then outside by the roses while the boys gave us our corsages and we gave the boutonnieres. I heard daddy's car pull up in the drive and rushed to meet him outside the garage.

"Hello princess, don't you look beautiful as always." He said as I did a twirl for him to see.

"Hi daddy, come on, we're taking pictures!" I said dragging him along to the garden.

"Hello Mr. Adams." Ethan said shaking my fathers hand as Daniel followed his lead.

"Ethan, your taking my princess out tonight correct?"

"Yes sir."

"I want her home by eleven and I want her in one piece. I want nothing out of place, not a hair on her should be different, understand?"

"Well daddy," I intervened "we will be dancing. My hair is going to mess up after awhile."

"Then I guess you should add more hairspray shouldn't you?" He said turning back to Ethan. "Do you understand?"

"Yes sir." Ethan said taking my hand in his.

"And Daniel, that goes for you too. Callie is another one of my daughters so same goes for you. Here by eleven."

"Um, yes sir." Daniel said awkwardly as daddy stared him down.

"Shall we go?" I asked trying to ease the tension.
