After Rylan finishes scarfing the food down, I hop into the shower. Knowing I was asleep for a few days reminds me of the fight, and all the grime that must be sticking to my skin.

The showerhead rains clean water down my scalp, and I sigh in relief. The water on the tile is an off color and I grimace. Grabbing a shampoo, I begin to scrub every in of my hair clean.

~~~
Wrapped in a towel, I walk into my closet. Water drips onto the carpet, but ignore it. I slip into a pair of sweatpants, and a cropped tank. I shiver as the air brushes against my bare arms, and slip on a cardigan as I walk back into my bedroom.
I stop in front of the mirror and poke at my hair. It is all snarled together, I sigh and toss it over my shoulder.
I strut from my room, with a small grin on my face. I know if my mother sees me, she will surely be pissed. Since we have company, I am supposed to be wearing formal attire at all times, but that definitely isn't happening.
I pass the library, and slow down. Hearing voices inside, I peek through the door. I can't see anyone, but I can hear two loud male voices.
"Roger, any news about her?"
"Uh... Yeah, she left the infirmary."
There is a few beats of silence, then a low growl. The first voice sounds vaguely familiar. I bite my lip in hesitation, then tip toe in through the doorway in an attempt to see who is talking. I weave through the shelves of dusty, old books until I come across a small sitting area. I hear someone pacing across the space, and I crouch by the bookcase.
"Why the hell would she do that?!" The first voice growls. He definitely sounds pissed, I resist the urge to chuckle.
"Maybe she got bored? Or the nurse wasn't there to tell her what you said?"
The second question results in another growl. The pacing stops and I hear the window being cracked open. A breeze blows towards me and I smell the two wolves. One is definitely Kayn, I recognize the scent from the hospital room.
"Where is she? I need to talk to her!" The voice, Kayn's, sounds worried.
"Umm... Honestly, I have no idea where she is. Her friend left her in her room about an hour ago, and she isn't there now."
I hear a loud snarl, and something being thrown into the wall. I hear the second guy wince, and for a second, I think Kayn threw him. Until he speaks, that is.
"Would you chill ad stop breaking shit? She is still on the pack lands, otherwise one of the patrols would have found her. Just wait, she is probably looking for you."
The room goes silent, and I hear the two walking towards the main doors. Who could Kayn be looking for? It could be me, which would explain why the other guy said she wasn't in her room. I stand up, and brush the dust off my butt. I start to walk toward the door when I hear Kayn stop and sniff the air. He is definitely down wind from me now. I hear Kayn shake his head and close the door behind him. I snort and walk into the seating area they were in.
The rug in the middle is bunched up in a few spots, probably from the pacing. I slide the window shut and glance at what smashed against the wall. It was an old chair, that my mother wasn't particularly fond of. I'm surprised it didn't break. Setting it upright, I make my way out of the library.
I walk towards Rylan's room when I run into her, literally. She grumbles at me, a smile etched into her lips. I laugh and grab her hand, pulling her to my room. I make sure to lock the door behind us before sitting by her on the bed.
"What is it?" Rylan asks, eyeing my sly grin.
"I may or may not have spied on Kayn and someone else." I shrug nonchalantly.
Rylan breaks out into a fit of giggles, causing me to chuckle back. We both continue laughing until our stomachs hurt.
"I can't believe you actually spied on him without getting caught!"
"Hey! I can spy on anyone and not get caught! It was kinda funny, though." I tap my chin thoughtfully, a cheesey grin taking over my face. Rylan's lips curve into a similar position.
"What was he saying?"
"Mostly he was being pissed about someone leaving the infirmary." I raise my eyebrows slyly and Rylan's eyes go wide.
"No way!"
"Yup," I laugh and soon Rylan joins in. When we finish, there is a knock on the door. I sniff lightly and smell Cody, the wolf I fought before.
I roll my eyes at his bad timing, and Rylan sucks her lips into her mouth to keep from cackling. Standing, I walk over to the door, and unlock it. As soon as I do, Cody rushes inside and slams the door shut.
Drama queen.
Sliding the lock into place, he looks at Rylan and I.
"What are you two doing?! Don't you know what's going on!?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Was this a little out of character for Kira and Rylan? I wanted them to have a moment to themselves where they just catch up and get back into the swing of their old sneaky ways. I feel like it might read weird though, let me know what you think!
