Rylan giggles and I just roll my eyes playfully. The worried look on Cody's face though, soon breaks me out of it.

"Seriously! What is wrong with you two?"

My wolf stirs at the seriousness in his voice. Cody sits on the edge of my bed, and I start to pace by the door.

"Cody, chill out. What is going on?"

"You guys seriously don't know? Your father has been looking for you for he last half hour!"

"Why?" I stop pacing and face him, my hands braced on my hips.

"Kayn is trying to kill Cole! Everyone has been trying to find you!!"

"Why her?" Rylan questions, sprawled across my bed.

"Supposedly she is the only one who can stop him." Cody rolls his eyes at this, and shrugs casually.

I growl verbally at him, while mentally I'm scolding my father. I am still recovering, and he expects me to break up a fight.

Cody flinches back as I storm out the doorway. Rylan jumps to her feet and races after me as I rush down the stairs.

I make it to the back door before Rylan reaches me. Grabbing a hold of my shoulder, she pulls me to a stop. I am sincerely frustrated, as I just want to get this over with and take a nap.

Cody comes running down the stairs after us, slightly out of breath.

"Hell! You move fast when you want to!"

Rylan looks into my eyes, and purses her lips.

"You need to chill. If you are going to handle this, you need to stop rushing."

I roll my eyes, but nod. I am still tired, but I need to put an end to this. If my father wants me to show how powerful I am, that I am capable of stopping an alpha, then I will.

I push open the door, and stride across the grass, heading towards the forest. I can smell the same scent from before, Kayn's.

I don't pay attention to the scenery or if the others are keeping up, but when I finally reach the clearing with the other wolves, I am suddenly very aware of everything that is happening.

Cole is laying one the ground, a hand covering a wound on his side, as he pushes his other hand against the chest of a black furred wolf. He grunt out in pain as the wolf bites and snaps at him.

The wolf looks familiar, but I have no idea from where.

The wolf seems to be doing everything he can to draw out Cole's agony as he carefully aims his attacks at his unguarded legs.

There is a crowd around the two, but they seem reluctant to come any closer than they are. Nobody wants to stop this fight, especially after what Cole did. But someone has to, of the wolf might kill him before justice finds him.

I push through the crowd, coming to a stop at the edge. The ground is painted with wet blood. It seems to coat everything as the two roll back and forth on it. They are both covered in the thick substance, and it begins hard to tell what belongs to who.

My wolf howls, eager to be let out. I don't allow her to though, she isn't acting normal. She almost seems hyper, and this unnerves me.

I step into the clearing, causing the wolf's face to snap up towards mine. His ocean colored eyes burrow into my own as he glares at me, daring me to take his prey. I take another brave step forward and he lunges closer, trying to scare me away. Even with the blood dripping between his teeth, I don't back away.

Suddenly, his whole demeanor changes, and he sniffs the air around me curiously.

I shift closer, trying to put myself between the wolf and Cole. He curls his lip up in a snarl, but doesn't make any move to harm me. I take this as a good sign and shift the rest of the way between the wolf and Cole.

This sets him off, as he leaps at me. I growl and duck slightly. He lands on my side and we roll away from Cole. I nod at Rylan over the wolf's shoulder. She gets a few wolves to help, then drags him away from the wolf and I.

The wolf is laying next to me, his nose buried in my neck. He is letting out small whimpers and he continues nuzzling his nose closer to me. I keep me arms banded around his body, keeping him from attacking anyone else.

The other wolves rush away from the scene and I sit up. The black wolf looks up at me from where he is laying on the ground. He looks sorry, and I scrunch up my face at him. He smells familiar, but I have no idea why.

I don't get time to dwell on it, as a branch breaks in the woods next to the wolf and I, drawing our attention away for a moment.
