Chapter 26
Peter's POV
Tony is a gem. He's been so good to me and I honestly want to make it up to him at some point. Like when we go out on our next date, I'm going to treat the both of us to a really great meal and/or an adventure. Relationships are a two way street and I want to cater to him too. Tony and I just had a heated make out session that I'm still daydreaming about. Now, we're eating a light dinner, which is chicken noodle soup. I volunteered to help Tony make it. He's done enough on his own today. Tony wouldn't let me do anything too strenuous but I did get to chop up vegetables for it.
The soup turned out to be delicious and quite satisfying to my soul. Not having had to work today really helped me feel better. I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow. I don't like sitting idle for too long. I like being useful and accomplishing things. I smile softly at Tony. "I'm treating the both of us on our next date. No if, ands, or buts about it. Capeesh?" He smirks. "Capeesh." Tony scoops me up bridal style after we fresh up and throws me into bed (literally). I squeal. "Was that really necessary Tony?" He chuckles. "It sure was." He jumps down onto the bed next to me and stares into my eyes. He stares so intensely that I feel like he's more so staring into my soul rather than my eyes.
His brown eyes are perfect, I could get lost in them. In fact, I am getting lost in them. "Tony, I love you. Thank you for today." "I love you too Peter and I'd do this more often if I could. On a serious note though, I'm glad you're feeling better. I have a special project that I'd love for you to be a part of tomorrow. You, me, and Pep will be working on it together. Does that sound fun?" I nod my head eagerly. "It sure does." He ruffles my hair and kisses me on the forehead. "Then you better go to sleep or else you won't have enough energy to participate in this super cool project of ours." I pout playfully but fulfill his request, falling asleep in his bed within fifteen minutes.
Tony's POV
While Peter sleeps, I finalize some notes for tomorrow's project. I send Pep a copy for her to review before bed. I want this project to be absolutely perfect. Having the both of them work with me on this potentially life changing project is going to be a dream. I want them in on some success too. There is so much that the two of them do for Stark Industries and the Avengers that goes unrecognized. When I lie down in bed, I stare up at the ceiling with a goofy expression on my face. I don't think I've ever been as excited to go to work the following morning as I am right now. I feel like a little kid waiting to sneak downstairs to scope out the presents that Santa left for me under the Christmas tree. That's what Morgan does every year by the way and it's beyond adorable.
