Chapter 31

Tony's POV

Time Skip... Another Six Months Later...

  It's been a year with my dear Peter, the best year of my entire life. I'm so blessed to have him as both my boyfriend and my partner. The thing is that I want him to be my partner for the rest of our lives. He's been mine for quite some time now but I want to make it official. I want to propose to him. Me being me, I have it all thought out. We're recreating our first dinner date on top of Stark Tower. Clint is doing me a solid by coming up to video tape it. He's been visiting with us the last couple of days and it's been nice catching up with him. Sadly he leaves tomorrow but let's get back on track here. 

     I even hung tons of twinkly lights this afternoon around the railings on the roof. I wanted the mood to be absolutely perfect. Pep, Rhodey, and Morgan are going to watch the proposal go down for afar and snap some pictures. It's going to be perfect, at least I hope it will. I hired a chef again for tonight to make us some spaghetti and meatballs with a dash of basil to top it off. For dessert, two slices of NYC style cheesecake, one slice for each of us. I almost forgot the appetizers, silly me. We're having pretzels with cheese dip and jalapeno poppers for the appetizers. As the appetizers are served, my heart begins to race. My palms build up with sweat and my knees are bouncing up and down. Can I do this? I really want to but I'm a nervous wreck just thinking about it. 

      I fiddle with the ring box in my pocket, forcing myself to eat some jalapeno poppers. Peter studies me a bit as I eat but doesn't question me thankfully. Instead being the sweetheart that he is, he reaches out across the table and holds my hands, squeezing them gently. "I love you Tony. Happy anniversary." I melt into a puddle of feels as I smile back at him. "Happy anniversary my darling. I love you too." We eat in a blissful silence before the main course is served. When it is, I take a deep breath and stand up straight. "Peter, I have a very important question to ask you. I'm nervous to sit to do so." I begin to get down on one knee and Peter's mouth forms an "O" shape to it. He quickly realizes I'm proposing and a hand flies over his mouth. 

     "Peter, I adore you to the moon and back. I'm so incredibly in love with you. You make me happier than words could ever say. That's why I'm hoping my actions right now speak louder than words. That's why I'm down on one knee, asking for your hand in marriage. I want you to be more than my boyfriend, I want you to be my husband, my partner for life. I want to spend the rest of my days with you. You're the love of my life. Will you marry me?" I stare at him, eagerly awaiting his response. When he nods through tears of joy, I breathe a sigh of relief and spread my arms wide for him to enter. I pull him close to me and hug him to death (not literally though because losing him the first time around for five years was a nightmare).

       Clint grins at us. "I managed to record the entire proposal Tony." Pep, Morgan, and Rhodey come out of the shadows. Happy wanted to be here tonight but couldn't do a last minute meeting he had to attend. He of course wished his best for the both of us. Morgan giggles. "Now I have two daddies and a mommy. This is the best day ever!" I tip my head back in laughter and scoop her up into my arms. "That's right my little genius. Our family just got both bigger and better." Pep kisses both me and Peter on the cheek. "Congratulations to the both of you. I better be the maid of honor at this wedding though." I nod. "I had no other woman in mind for the slot other than you." 

      Rhodey and Clint both hug us too. The Avengers have come a long way this past year in accepting Peter and I as a couple. It's impossible to hate Peter Parker. He's such a sweetheart and I'm so thankful that he said yes. I can't wait to marry him.
