She stared at each of the males, all of their eyes were blood shot red, except for Chan.
She kept her hand on her arm, trying to think, 'What would be the smartest choice?' She thought 'If I leave it could attract more vampires, but I can't stay either. I don't want to step out of here and get bitten by someone else.'

She didn't have a plan, she made eye contact with Hyunjin. He had already gotten up and moved over to where she was, having Seungmin move to his spot.
He reached for her arm, making sure he didn't hurt her. He took her hand off the cut gently, just so he can inspect it, it wasn't anything major, but it was just enough for all nine of them to sense it.

"I'm sorry, I don't know how it happened." She lied, she didn't feel the need right then and there to tell them.

The last thing she needed was drama.
"You're fine, don't worry I still have more bandages on me." Hyunjin noted with a soft smile on his face.
He bandaged it up just like he did with the bite marks.

They went back to having their meals once they all settled, Hyunjin stayed right by her side.

—Time Skip—

It's been a week since she had gotten bitten by Chan, constant reminders everyday from Jiwon, that she didn't belong there and more threats. She never actually did anything to stop her so she wasn't bothered by it.

In the meantime she grew closer with him than she had with anyone else, they were good friends.
Many hangouts at her house, although she noticed each time Hyunjin would come over her brother glared at him.
She knew that he was overprotective but something about the way he stared Hyunjin down, was unsettling.

It really bothered her, so today she decided she would speak to him.
She got home from school, she took her brother by the hand and mead him to the couch, having him sit down.
"Mark. We need to talk." She said, "Oh dear God please tell me you're still a virgin??"

Soojin rolled her eyes "Yes of course I'm still a virgin. Dumbass." She seated herself next to Mark.
"I'm talking about why you hate Hyunjin so much?" A long sigh escaped his lips, he ran his hand through his hair.

"He isn't good for you, there's something about him that makes me uneasy. He doesn't deserve you." He said, she could tell he was being serious about this.

"Excuse me??" Soojin said, feeling offended. "He doesn't deserve me? What's so bad about him? He's never done anything wrong." She was upset that her older brother, whom she trusted, felt this way about Hyunjin.

"You don't understand Soojin, he isn't what you think he is." From Marks point of view he didn't know that Soojin already knew that Hyunjin was a vampire.
He absolutely despised them, they were nothing more than blood-thirsty beasts.
They have no soul or a care in the world for a human, at least, that's what he thought.

"What do you mean?" She asked, worried that he had found out about Hyunjin.
"He's a vampire Soojin."
"How did you know that??" She asked,
Mark was also shocked, he decided he would just tell her.

"I've studied on vampires, I knew he was one the instant he walked through that door." He admitted "The way his eyes change color, the way he looks at you, as if he could suck every last drop of blood out of your body. I don't want that for you." He rested his hands in her shoulders, trying to get her to understand.

"You can't just assume every vampire wants to kill me Mark." The female said, hoping he would understand that Hyunjin isn't like that.
"Then what's this??" He asked, tearing the bandage off her neck. Because It hadn't fully healed yet, it started bleeding from being ripped off. She flinched and immediately covered it with her hand.
"Stop it, okay?" She asked, mark reached for her hand and moved it away from her wound, tilting her head with his other hand. "Hyunjin didn't hurt me!" She argued.

"Then who did??"

She stayed quiet, not knowing how to respond. She didn't want him to know that she was around other vampires and the fact that he could do anything to prevent her from seeing them, hurt.

"Don't worry about it." She said and moved his hands off of her, covering the bite marks with her hand once more.

"I swear to God Soojin, I need you to tell me who it was." His tone more harsh, he was frustrated.

She shook her head and stood up, mark grabbed onto her arm, pulling her towards him. "Soojin. Now." That's when they heard a knock at the door, Soojin was ent over to it. Removing her arm from his grasp and answered it.

It was Hyunjin, "Hey, what's up?" She asked him, her hand still on her wound. "Nothing, just thought I'd say hey. Are you okay?" He asked taking a small step closer.
"Uh yeah." She smiled "Now isn't a good time. I'll message you." She closed the door and turned around, mark standing right behind her.

"Look, I need you to understand that I don't want you around him. He will hurt you, I've seen it. They earn your trust just to hurt you in the end." Mark tried to convince her that Hyunjin was no good, she shook her head in disagreement.

"You can't keep me away from him, besides Hyunjin isn't like that."

"Soo I'm trying to keep you safe."

"You're not keeping me safe, you're keeping me away from my only source of happiness."
