"Speak," Xavier demeaned as we both stood up from our chairs. The werewolf who rushed in took a deep breath and then said,

"The-the Spell casters, they attacked the Blood Wood pack that were on their way over here."

"Casualties," Xavier asked, not breaking eye contact with the werewolf once.

"Not one survivor."

My heart stopped dead in my chest. I sucked in a breath as it began to beat faster and faster the more the conversation went on.

"Out of how many, Liam?"

"Fifty werewolves and only four Spell casters dead Your Highness." Liam said looking down, his face distraught.

I glanced at Xavier trying to gauge his reaction but his face held no expression. He controlled his emotions far better than I ever could.

"Send out the Scouts to the location of the attack."

"The Scouts Your Highness?"

"Yes, I want them to scout the entire area and gather as much information as they can about the attack. I want a full report on my desk by six am tomorrow."

"Of course Your Highness, I'll leave right away."

"Xavier," I said tentatively. He glanced sideways at me but didn't say anything.

"How could they have taken down fifty werewolves?"

"I don't know, I didn't expect them to be this powerful and to attack like this."

"Do you think they are trying to attack us in small groups because of our numbers?"

"That's exactly what they are doing. It would be easier to defeat us in smaller groups than all at once."

"What are we going to do?" I said fear lacing my voice. If they could easily kill fifty werewolves, do we even stand a chance against an entire army of them? Xavier knew exactly what I was thinking.

He turned towards me, determination in his eyes. This was the Alpha King, the most powerful werewolf to ever exist. He was made of steel, nothing would break him. I needed to have more faith in him, in us, in the werewolves.

"We are going to avenge our brothers and sisters who have fallen belie-"

Xavier's eyes glazed over and I looked at him confused until I realised someone was mind linking him.

"Most of the packs have started arriving. There will be a feast at four to honour the fallen and afterwards I have called for a meeting with the rest of the Alphas and their Betas at seven. We have much to discuss and it cannot wait for tomorrow, we can't waste any time."

"Oh okay, is there anything I can do until then?"

Xavier walked towards where I stood in front of the table and then sat down on top of it, directly in front of me. I yelped as he grabbed me around my waist and drew me towards himself until I was situated in between his long legs.

His hands travelled lower until they rested on my buttocks and then he kissed me, hard. I blinked in surprise but then kissed him back.

We sprung apart as the doors to the room banged open.

"What now," Xavier sighed, " I swear we just keep on getting interrupted today."

"Well, well isn't this cosy," a deep voice drawled. I turned to look at who was speaking and saw a man briskly walking towards us, he was quite attractive if I might add but there was a sly almost mischievous look about him.
