———————————"You guys have to be more mature sometimes".
Chan explains to his couch full of children who twisted their faces at the newfound word. Jisung instantly shoots up his hand. Chan sighs, yet calls on him anyways.
"Yes jisung?".
"Daddy what does matoor mean?".
Felix nudges his brother,
"Good question".
He whispers smiling before they both turn their attention to five foot seven giant in front of them.
"It means to act more grown up".
"I call driving the car!".
Minho shouts,
"I shop for food!".
Seungmin exclaims,
"I work at a cool building like daddy!".
Felix illustrates,
"I take care of jeongie!".
Hyunjin intervenes next. Chan could only stare at his kids who called dibs on things they didn't have to. He didn't know what he was doing really, trying to tell a bunch of elementary schoolers to act more appropriate.
"Boys boys, no one is calling anything. To act grown up doesn't mean you literally have to be grown up. Just—less fighting okay?".
The six took no time nodding their heads in unison. Felix forces a hand into the air next.
"Yes Felix?".
"Are we going to eat dinner tonight?".
"You eat dinner every night felix. Why ask silly questions?".
"Well...".
The boy presses his thumbs again one another. Looking at his brothers' faces before meeting his father's gaze.
"Well I think we fight a lot because we're hungry? Maybe we should eat?".
Chan checks his watch, seeing that it was now around seven twenty-five. He'd usually have them eating by eight o'clock which leaves time for bathing and then free time before bed. But he figured if they were anticipating food, he wouldn't let them starve until eight.
"What do you guys want to eat?".
He asks, hoping they'd give him something he could easily order from a nearby restaurant. It wasn't that Chan was a bad cook, it's just his variety was small. If it was up to him every night, he'd be making the same meals over and over.
They reached glances at each other and together as if they had some sort of telepathy they all recited,
"PIZZA!!".
Chan who was now a relieved father took no time to settle down the antsy six so that he could call an order for delivery.
One large party sized pizza with a bottle of Fruit punch.
"Daddy!! Can we watch a movie until the pizza gets here?".
Minho pleads with everything in him. Chan stuck his tongue in his cheek humming,
"Did you guys finish all of your homework?".
Nods rippled around the Hyung line, desperate to get away from the kitchen table.
