The countryside town hadn't changed the slightest. The season had changed, but besides that, the town has remained unchanged. I headed uphill to the rest stop to avoid the shops. It was really hot.

A scooter raced past us, leaving a cloud of dust in its wake. Taehyung complained to himself as he coughed.

A little way ahead I spotted the place where the accident had happened all those years ago, just around the bend.

There were no signs left on the wayside after all those years. Taehyung dropped to his knees, his eyes fixed on the asphalt. I told Taehyung about what had happened in this small town. I told him about the Riverside Restaurant's competition.

I told him about the snow. About the accident. About how I'd almost slipped and met the same fate as Taehyung. I told him about how easily the whole thing had been forgotten. It was absurd really. I told him about all those memories of shared with that friend of called "Taehyung".

"Hyung, let's never die."

Taehyung was looking up at me, his palms set firmly on the asphalt. I didn't really know what to say. It seemed as if "Taehyung" was beneath Taehyung's hands on the road. As if "Taehyung" was still resting on the white lines.

No one on this earth would ever have wanted to die the way that he had. He died alone. And no one cared or mourned for him. I couldn't say anything though because I hadn't done any of that either.

"Let's go," I finally said.

"Where are we going now?" Taehyung asked, picking himself up.

"When we went to the beach you said you wanted to ask me something, right?
Why don't we talk about it. Whatever you're struggling with, whatever you wanted to talk about, let's try and sort it out together."
