They stared at each other for a couple seconds, both of them to caught up in their thoughts to really say anything besides a simple greeting.
That was until the little boy, SeokYoon, spoke.
"Dada!" he called out, his voice adorable, "why stp readin?!" he asked, a pout, much like Yoongi's, evident on his small pink lips.
Their attention snapped to the boy, reality now setting in, and it was not pleasent. It felt like they were both being suffocted by a warm blanket on an even hotter day.
Hoseok quickly got up from the ground, his heart still thumping in his chest with no intention to stop, he dusted off the back of his thighs and his knees before standing up completely straight.
Yoongi stood up as well, SeokYoon doing the same, the elder handed the book to the small boy and looked to Hoseok.
"Long time no see, huh?" Yoongi internally cringed at the phrase, his cheeks heating up from the embarresment of even saying that outloud, or at all.
Hoseok visibly cringed, the male crinkling his nose, which was quite adorable to the elder male standing before him, "Yeah," he agreed, looking at the shelves again and ignoring Yoongi's presense. He needed to calm down before something happened.
"Seok," both Hoseok and the young boy looked at Yoongi, the elder chuckling a bit before clarifying, "Hoseok." while rubbing the back of his neck.
The black haired male looked at him, really looked at him. Yoongi looked even better than their senior year, he really had grown into his features more. His hair was a bit longer, it was styled messier too, which made him look incredously handsome. He was wearing black skinny jeans with a simple white T-shirt, accompanied with vans, a silver chain was accompanying his outfit. Then his gaze shifted to the young boy, he had brown hair that was wavy, unlike Yoongi's which was naturally straight, he was wearing a black shirt with blue jeans and some tims. He is adorable.
"Yes, Yoongi Hyung?" Hoseok asked, finally speaking after looking at the two people in front of him. He didn't want to greet Yoongi informally so he settled with that, they weren't together anymore.
Yoongi kept himself from rolling his eyes at the formality, "I was- shit," he heard Yoongi mumble, the man's phone ringing in the quiet library. He muttered a small apology before picking up the phone and bringing it to his ear, "Yeah, what? I-" Yoongi flicked his wrist up to look at his watch, Hoseok's eyes bulging out when he noticed it was a rolex, "-give me 45 minutes, at most. Okay, yeah, I love you too, okay bye." then he hung up and put his phone in his pocket.
That one hurt.
He looked to Hoseok, forcing a smile on his face as he asked, "Hey, can I get your number? So I can contact you."
Hoseok scoffed, literally scoffed right in Yoongi's face. He had to keep himself from bursting out laughing all together, "Contact me?" he asked, his tone laced in bitterness, "You clearly haven't wanted to in the last four years."
It was petty, Hoseok is well aware of that. But he was hurt, angry even. Yoongi was still in contact with Namjoon, Jungkook, Soyeon, Jimin, Taehyung, hell, even Seokjin, everyone except him. And that hurt like a bitch. To have the love of your life completely avoid you? Not try to contact you? Hurt. He knows Yoongi changed his number, but Hoseok didn't, he's had the same one and their friends have it. So what was his excuse?
Yoongi bit his lip, hard enough to almost cut the skin. SeokYoon began whining beside him, the elder male picking the small boy up in his arms. He then looked to Hoseok, looked at him the same way Hoseok did earlier.
Hoseok grew a bit taller, he grew into his nose and ears, his hair complimented his, slightly tanner, skin well. He was in a black loose fitting shirt with tight white jeans and some dress shoes, Yoongi didn't really know what Hoseok did for work now and days.
"Hoseok," he said in a firm tone, staring the male down, "if you let me explain it'll make sense, I promise." No cut formed on his skin because it was the truth.
SeokYoon was staring at the two adults, especially the stranger who also had the same nickname as him. Out of habit, Seokyoon began playing with Yoongi's chain. The elder unfazed by it.
Hoseok took a deep breath, which was becoming hard to do, "You can get my number from one of our friends, it hasn't changed. Bye, Yoongi Hyung."
With that he rushed out of the library, no books in hand.
Yoongi stared at his back as he went, his heart in pain. He felt SeokYoon pull at the chain on his neck to get his attention, the elder turning to the young boy.
"Yes, Seok?" he asked, the nickname felt familiar on his tongue with the little boy in his arms, but felt painful when he called Hoseok the name he made for him when they were teenagers.
"Dada, who dat man?" SeokYoon asked, looking at his father with his cat like eyes, much like Yoongi's.
Yoongi sighed, kissing his sons forehead before saying, "An old friend, baby, dada's old friend."
A cut appeard on the dip of his pelvis, Yoongi keeping himself from hissing. He didn't want to tell SeokYoon, his son, that the man that just practically ran away from him was the love of his life that he regrets losing.
Not now, at least.
