They sat in a dismal silence for a couple seconds, just listening to Seokyoon playing around with the toys and the occasional sound of voices outside of the door.
Hoseok was close enough for Yoongi to smell his cologne, it was a husky scent but wasn't overbearing; he smelled good. Yoongi subconsciously gave himself sweater paws, the elder pulling on the blue fabric and holding onto it tightly in his balled up fists.
"Okay," Hoseok proclaimed, sick of the silence, "I know you have questions for me, so ask away." he encouraged, looking over at Yoongi's downcast head. He had to resist the urge to grab his chin and tilt it upward. To just pull Yoongi close enough to-
"Did you really have a boyfriend while we weren't together?" Yoongi finally asked, taking a glance at Seokyoon before giving Hoseok his full attention.
Hoseok sighed, looking down at his feet as he formulated an answer in his head, "Yes," he responded, knowing Yoongi wanted him to elaboarte, "I did, he and I became a couple in the middle of our sophmore year. We broke up close to the end of our junior year and hooked up throughout senior year, had kind of an on and off relationship. I officially ended things before we graduated." he explained, looking over at Yoongi, who was already staring at him, when he finished.
Yoongi nodded, he was hurt, of course he was. He felt the same pain Hoseok did when the younger found out that Seokyoon really was his son. It stung like a bitch, and hurt more than getting hit by a truck, but he knew that Hoseok wasn't with this person anymore. They both made mistakes while they weren't together, the question is if they would be able too move on from them.
"Who was the guy?" the elder asked, his curiosity getting the best of him.
Hoseok chuckled, it was dry and full of little amusement, "You actually already met him."
It took Yoongi a couple seconds to realize who Hoseok was referring too, "The guy outside! Haneul?" he practically shouted, which caused Hoseok to laugh, "he seems like an ass."
"What can I say?" Hoseok laughed again, his smile directed towards Yoongi, "I have a thing for guys who aren't always so nice." which was true.
At this, Yoongi looked at Hoseok, the two not realizing how close they were to each other until he looked over. Hoseok's gaze was the first to shift from Yoongi's dark eyes to his pink lips, but Yoongi was the one who began leaning into the other. This is exacly what the two knew would happen if they were alone together.
Alas, they weren't alone.
"DADA!" Seokyoon shouted, which resulted in Yoongi and Hoseok abruptly pulling away from each other and to the other sides of the couch.
Yoongi stood up and walked over to his son, his cheeks pink and body feeling hot all over. He ignored it though, because he was a father above all else, "what is it, Seokyoon?"
"m' hungry," the little boy complained, Hoseok watching their interaction with a fond smile etched on his full lips.
The elder picked up his phone from where it was disgarded on the ground, and placed it in his back pocket. Yoongi walked over to a bag he'd brought, specifically for situations like this, and handed Seokyoon a pouch of apple sauce. "We'll eat dinner later, yeah?"
Seokyoon nodded, eating his food and going back to playing with the toys. Yoongi rolled his eyes playfully as he sat back down next to Hoseok.
"Sorry," he apologized, this resulting in Hoseok waving his hand in a dismissive manner.
"There's no need for you to apologize, Yoongi," he assured, "he really does look like you." he commented, which was no where near a lie.
Yoongi just nodded, smiling softly, "I get that a lot."
"I bet," Hoseok returned the smile, glad things weren't so awkward and they were actually having a proper conversation, "so, what do you do now?"
"I'm a producer for a company named Phoenix, have you-"
"I've heard of it," Hoseok said, already knowing what Yoongi was going to ask.
"-yeah, well I mainly work there. I do travel alot though and work for different companies and various artists. I've collabed with some but I prefer to make the magic behind the scenes," Yoongi finished with a nod, not realizing he and Hoseok were making direct eyecontact the whole time they were talking.
Progress.
Hoseok nodded, making a mental note to search up Yoongi's music later.
Both men realized why they never contacted each other, simply because their timelines never matched up. When Hoseoks drama with Haneul was over, is the same time Yoongi found out Suran was pregnant. There paths didn't cross till that day at the library. And they didn't contact each other because of all the drama in their lives at the time.
Again, the fell into a soft silence, both of them knowing what they wanted to say but unaware of how to convey it. It wasn't until Hoseok asked a question that had Yoongi's heart beating out of his chest and Hoseok afraid of the anwer.
"Do you still love me?"
