Wiltered Love

Love hurts all that delve into it;

It didn't take me long till I knew.

What was the cause of the downfall of our emotions?

Were the raw and delicate feelings that were woven into our young souls,

that were so newfangled and more intense than we may have ever experienced,

Really genuine?

It seemed that we would just click together like two pieces of a puzzle,

Filling in the missing gaps each other had had;

But it seemed you were unable to fill my gaps,

Despite me filling in yours.

The words that would stream from your mouth

Bound me to you with red ribbons

That, though delicate,

Left sore marks on my skin,

Being numb and unnoticeable until touched.

And although this love may only now seem farfetched,

The etch of it will be sketched in our memories,

Perhaps for forever;

But I am unsure if whether that is a desirable thing or not.
